The next day was a sunny and beautiful Friday. The day was filled with happiness, but me. James wasn't supposed to text me that.
Yes, he can worry about me but he cant talk to me like that...
.........................
The bell rang as I walked to my science class. I took my assigned seat in front of James and across from Kim. Kim is a brunette girl with big brown eyes and is wearing a white blouse, jeans, and boots. She's a close friend of mine and I can trust her with some things.
"Hi Jenny," she said smiling, her dimples showing. Next to her is James. I could feel him staring at me. She doesn't know about him yet but I plan to tell her someday.
"Hi, Kim. Did we have any homework for this class?" I asked worried that the
teacher will collect it if we had any. People are still coming through the door and taking their seats. Then walks in Amanda, wearing leggings and orange shirt with small flowers on it. She smiles at both of us and takes her seat on the other side of the room.
"No" she finally says after a while of thinking.
"Hi Jenny," said a deep voice.
Oh no. It was James. I replied with a hi without looking back at him. There was a confused look on Kim's face.
"Okay everyone, today we are going to be learning about particles." said the teacher, just in time to prevent James from responding.
............................
*a week later*
I'm at the library with Kim and Amanda. They were both talking while I used Kim's phone talk to James since mine got taken away. I recently told Kim about the situation with me and James and she was shocked and said "I thought he was a good guy"
Jenny Porter: Why do you keep texting me
James A: You mean the world to me
Jenny Porter: Cut the crap. YOU HAVE A GIRLFRIEND!! Who cares about you
while you care about me!
James A: so this is about Amanda isn't it. If I wasn't dating her would you listen?
Jenny Porter: It's not that simple...
James A: Okay. I'll make it SIMPLE
Umm... I was getting worried. What did he mean by that??
At that moment Amanda's phone beeped, cutting her short of whatever she was saying
and telling her that she got a text.
"Who's it from?" I asked
"James," she said with a smile on her face.
She swiped her finger across the screen and her face paled. She started to type intensely, biting her lip and waiting for an answer. Kim looked at what they were texting and her usually happy face turn into a worried one as she looked at the phone and Amanda.
"What happened?" I asked getting wary. James texted me,
I'm doing this for you.
Kim looked at me and said the thing I least expected her to say.
"He wants to break up."
