Chapter 5: Fun

I just stared at Kim with disbelief in my eyes.

This can't be. No no no no no!

Amanda was still typing and a tear ran down her cheek. She quickly wiped her cheek to remove the tear. She loved him. But I guess he didn't love her and it was temporary.

I felt a guilty feeling in the pit of my stomach. Kim leaned over to her and hugged her.

"Are you okay?" she asked. There was a hint of sadness in her voice. Amanda didn't respond. she stayed quiet.

I have to tell her. I'll tell her another day when she isn't hurting. F(u)cking James. He hurt my best friend. I'll hurt him. 

Amanda said "Yeah...hopefully" She tried to smile but it faltered. Me and Kim both got up

to hug her. She was shaking.

"I got an idea," Amanda said pulling away from the both of us. Her eyes were turning a bit red and were watery." Let's have a girls night. Just the 3 of us and ice cream and movies." The sad mood was lifted a little as we had put the smiles on our faces.

Kim and I agreed. A girls night at Amanda's house at 8 pm, today.

" Okay but first we have to go to our houses to pick up our stuff. My mom is still working

at the hospital, so I'll just text her" said Kim

"Same.. besides the mom still working" That got a soft laugh from both of them.

Kim dropped both of us at our houses to get ready. Kim and I getting our clothes and Amanda

fixing up her room a bit. We were going to go buy the ice cream after Kim came to pick us up.

I ran up the stairs to my mom's room and knocked. 

"Quien es?" 

"Its Jenny" I opened the door and saw my mother lying on the bed on her phone. Her bruises

were starting to fade and she was starting to become happier.

"Um.. so today I'm going to go to Amanda's house with Kim to have a sleepover. if it's alright"

" yes, go and have some fun. It's been awhile since you went to your friend's house."

"Wheres Enrique?" I suddenly noticed he wasn't here and was starting to get scared, cause

he could come from behind...

"He's not coming this entire week because he's going to spend some time in Florida." I was relieved that he wasn't coming. 

"Okay well, I'm going to get some stuff for tonight. Goodnight mami"

"Good night Mija and I hope you enjoy your night." She told me with a small smile.

I went back to my room and got my clothes and toothbrush. Amanda texted me saying they were here. I went down the stairs and hopped into Kim's Honda.

We rode off to the supermarket to buy supplies for the girls night we were going to enjoy.
