"You kicked my son in the balls?!" Principal Grady sneers angrily. The vein in his forehead pulsed with anger, only seconds from bursting.

Next to me sat Parker, who had an ice pack to his family jewels.

"He was saying nasty things to me and my sister. And it's not like he lost anything important" I sigh.

"You assaulted a student!" he growls.

"No, I merely made contact with your son. So of course you're going to protect him, even if it means treating other students like garbage. Now, can I go back to class now or would you like to waste more of my education?" I say, cocking my head to the side.

Furious, the man lowers his voice, sending a shrill of fear down my spine "If you mess up again, or show any sign of disrespect, I will make sure you never step foot into this school again. Or any other school in the area."

"As long as you control your child, we won't have any problems" I say, giving him a fake smile before leaving the office.

Once exiting the office, a voice cut through the air. "R-Riley?" Nova whispered, standing from her chair.

"Hey Nov" I smile, wrapping an arm around her. "

Are you alright?" she asks, but before I can even answer, she goes on "How stupid can you be? I leave you alone for a few minutes, and you're already in a fight!"

"To be honest, all I did was kick him, and he fell like an oak tree" I chuckle.

Nova's glare makes my laughter stop.

"Now we've both made enemies" Nova sighs.

Turing to her, I send her a confused look "Who hates you?"

"Some girl in my second hour thought I stole her seat, and now she hates me" my sister groans "And it's not even the worst part."

"Do I even want to know?" I question.

"I'm sure Ana and that boy you kicked are dating."

Shit.

As if we screamed the words aloud, Parker passionately kissed this Ana girl.

Sighing, Nova turns to me. "I need to get to class. Please don't cause anymore trouble" she pleads before peeling away from me.

Shrugging, I head onto my next class.

"Alright Maggots, today we have Volleyball team tryouts!" Coach Greene calls out.

Since the rest of the day went smoothly, I decided to tryout for sports. Nova had either gone home, or stayed with one of her new friends.

"Now, I've put you all into teams we can practice in, so get with them and get ready for a game!" Coach yells.

Cracking my knuckles, I look through the brackets until I find my team:

-Amy Kong

-Riley Campbell

-Leon Jackson

-Madison Brown

-Usnavi Morse

-Zach Bronner

"You, come on" an Asian girl snaps, grabbing my arm and pulls me away from the group.

"Watch it!" I growl, ripping myself from her grasp.

"Oh good, you have spunk. You can never have enough of that" the girl chuckles "Amy."

"Riley Campbell. I'm guessing you take this pretty seriously?"

"Hell yes. Been in sports since I was 5 years old. See all those plaques? Their mine" Amy smiles proudly, pointing around the room.

"I was on every sports team at my old school. Even the football team" I state.

"No shit! That's amazing!" Amy smiles "I've been trying to get Coach to set up a girls football team, but he's too much of a wimp."

I liked this girl.

"Well, isn't it good to see you again" Parker intrudes, glaring at me.

"Hows your balls Parker? I mean Riley is a soccer player so I sure as shit would be concerned" Amy taunts.

With a scowl, he responds "You forget we have Co Ed volleyball teams now Hong. And I have 11 other people who will fill up the rosters. And even if you want to try for girls volleyball, I have connections to get those spots filled up too."

Stepping forward, she glares into his eyes "No matter how much power you think you have over me, you forget my father paid for the floors were walking on, the balls we play with and the paper the teams are printed on. And I have talent, something your little friends don't have."

Correction: I really like this girl.

Turning from a fuming Parker, Amy and I meet the rest of our team.
