Chapter 17

When they got to the station, Hermione put her hand on Draco's shoulder and shook him.

"Draco, wake up. We're here." Hermione said.

Draco groaned and removed his head from her lap, and looked at her with sleepy eyes.

Hermione smiled and pecked his lips.

Draco got up and grabbed his trunk from the rack above them.

Then they exited the train together and followed the rest of the returning students into the castle.

The castle felt different to Hermione somehow. She was not used to coming to school without harry and Ron, but something else seemed off.

Everyone entered the Great Hall, and sat at their house tables, except for Hermione, who had sat with the slytherins.

After everyone was seated, Snape rose from the long table at the front of the room and stood at the podium.

"Hey, what's going on?" Hermione asked.

"You haven't heard? Snape's the new headmaster." Seamus said turning towards the slytherin table to answer Hermione's question.

"QUIET!" Roared Snape's voice.

Everyone fell silent.

"Now as many of you may have heard in the Daily Prophet, I am your new headmaster." He paused, looking around and continued, "Therefore there are new rules and procedures that are expected to be followed.....Every secret passage on Hogwart's grounds, has been filled and can no longer be in use! If anyone is caught out of bed past nine o'clock, there will be a sever punishment! Gryffindor House has been moved to the dungeons and the slytherin house is going to be in the old Gryffindor tower! And as many of you also know, Harry Potter is wanted by the Ministry for Magic. If anyone has any idea s of his whereabouts, you are to report it to a teacher immediately and the appropriate actions will be taken!" Snape said without any emotion.

Everyone erupted in a roar of chatter and Draco and Hermione just looked at each other.
