Yurio's POV
Dad's not acting right. Is it because of me? Did I cause him to feel this much pain? I should've never said anything. Just keep it all to myself and try to ignore it. I looked up at Papa who was trying to get Dad to wake up. He looks just as scared as I am. Suddenly, Dad sat up breathing heavily with tears in his eyes. He looked over to me and Papa, instantly embracing us in a bone crushing hug. "Oh my god, thank the heavens you two are okay." Dad whispered, hugging us closer. When he finally released us, Papa placed a gentle hand on his shoulder. "Are you okay? What happened in your nightmare?" He asked with a soft and caring voice. I loved that voice. It calms me and anyone else down in seconds. Dad sniffled, "He got you both. There was no where to go, no one to save us. I felt so helpless Yuri. Why is he back? I don't want him to get both of you." Dad's voice wavered with every syllable, making it hard for me to contain my own emotions.
"Dad?" He turned his head slightly to face me. "What did he do to you?" Dad fixed his posture a bit and took a deep breath to calm himself. "When I was around ten years old, my parents had died in a car crash. I didn't have any relatives that lived near by, and I didn't have any friends to take me in either. I was alone, on the streets. That's when Yakov took me in. He said that as long as I did whatever he said to do, he would provide me with food, water, and a roof over my head. I had no other choice, so I went with him." Dad paused for a moment, as if trying to remember what happened next. "It wasn't long before I had become his sex slave. When I was about your age, I started escaping, hoping that I could find someone to help me. That's when he put me in the room." I noticed that Dad had started to shake and Papa was staring down in his lap, a look of guilt plastered on his face. "There were no windows, no air vents, and no lights. Just an old rusted door with a single latch on the outside." Tears started to flow down his cheeks as he trembled. Papa hugged Dad's face into his chest, gently running his fingers through his hair. I looked away from them, unable to watch my father cry.
Dad pulled himself together, sniffling a little. I looked back up at him and our eyes met. There was a sudden fire burning violently in his eyes, determination taking over his entire being in a single moment. "I swear with every fibre of my being, I will do everything within my power to protect you from that evil man." Then as if to say he'd do the same, Papa nodded, a similar fire burning brightly in his own eyes. I smiled halfheartedly, tears brimming my still puffy eyes.
"I'm sorry." I whispered, squeezing my eyes shut and shaking my head. "I didn't mean to bring up your past, I shouldn't have said anything an-" Papa cut me off, "No Yurio, we're both very glad that you told us. None of this is your fault sweetheart." He cupped my left cheek in his hand. I leaned into his motherly touch. "Your Papa is right Yurio, it is very good that you told us because now we can catch this repulsive, corrupt man." By now I was full on crying. Makkachin lays his head on my lap as if to calm my shaking self. I rub his ears as Dad and Papa pull me into a hug. I cried into both their shoulders as Dad rubbed my back and Papa ran his fingers through my hair soothingly. I really am lucky to have them both, and of course, Makkachin.
Papa pulled away and so did Dad. "Now," Papa began, "Who is this 'friend' I've heard so little about?" Papa smirked and Dads demeanor changed completely from caring to either pissed off or annoyed. I blushed. "Uh, n-no one important!" Damn, that didn't sound convincing at all. Papa chuckled and ruffled my hair. I swatted his hand away as Dad began to speak. "Well, whoever he is, he'd better know his boundaries." Dad crossed his arms and I growled, "Dad." Papa started laughing, letting the once tense and depressing atmosphere lighten up.
After a good laugh, we all make our way down to the kitchen for some breakfast. "Okay! What does everyone want for breakfast?" Papa asked, taking a look in the fridge and multiple cupboards of food. "Just cereal is fine." Papa nodded then looked at Dad expectantly. "Coffee." Papa breathed out his nose, then got our requested food.
A short while after getting my cereal, our doorbell went off. I didn't make the effort to get up because I was still eating and neither did Dad, so with a heavy sigh, Papa got up and made his way toward the door.
Yuri's P.O.V
When I opened the door, I was met with a young man, only about two inches shorter than me with a very faint blush on his face as he stood with his arms by his side and looked me in the eyes. He looks familiar, but how? I glanced down to the road. There, on the side, was a black motorbike. "Oh! You must be Yurio's friend. Hello!" The boy nodded slightly, his hand extending forward. "I'm Otabek Altin." I shook his hand, "Otabek, so nice to meet you. Please, come in." He bowed his head slightly in thanks, then entered our house. "Have a seat. I'll go get Yurio for you."
When I walked into the kitchen, Yurio was just putting his empty bowl in the sink. "Yurio, your friend from yesterday is here." He froze then looked up at me with confusion in his eyes. I chuckled, "Go on. You don't want to keep him waiting." He nodded and made his way out to the living room.
Yurio's P.O.V
Just as I'd expected, once I entered the living room, Otabek could be seen sitting on our couch, twiddling his thumbs. I took a deep breath before speaking up, "Hey, Otabek." Otabek looked up at me and smiled. "Hey." I sat next to him no the couch. "What are you doing here?" I asked and he reached into his back pocket. "Well, you left your phone at my place yesterday, so I came to give it back to you." He handed me my phone and I hit my hand against my forehead. "Agh. Of course I did. Sorry for the inconvenience." I slipped my phone into my back pocket. Otabek shook his head. "It's no trouble. I wanted to see how you were doing anyway." I blushed lightly and looked into my lap. "Oh, okay." My blush quickly deepened when we both heard an 'awe' coming from the kitchen. "Hey! Cut it out Piggy." Papa poked his head around the corner. "Hurtful!" I rolled my eyes at him. Then Dad's voice could be heard from in the kitchen as well, "Yurio, watch your tone." I crossed my arms and under my breath said, "Stupid old man."
Poor Otabek stayed perfectly still and quiet through the whole exchange, a very light blush covering his cheeks.
