'Second Lanark' is an ongoing chick lit novel by RElizabethM, that is consistently in the P.O.V of college Freshman, Elizabeth or 'Lizzie' (Not Beth!)
Positives: With an interesting yet laid back writing style, this book was a very nice read, something I would definitely have read in my free time. The scenarios were realistic without being boring, and still problematic enough to move the plot along. The characters were carefully sculpted and interacted with each other naturally.
Negatives: Towards the beginning of this book the many characters were a little hard to keep track of, and it took a while for the plot/conflicts, to really get going, but don't let this stop you from continuing to read this story.
Grammar/Punctuation: A+! I found very very few grammatical errors and even fewer punctuation mistakes, although keep in mind that I am by no means a professional editor.
Characters: Near the start of the story I was ever so slightly confused, but once I got a feel for the individual characters, they all seemed to be polished, and they interacted with each other in a dynamic way. The main character's internal alterations kept her P.O.V interesting and meaningful.
Dialogue: The dialogue in 'Second Lanark' was definitely one of the books strong points, everything made sense and nothing seemed forced or out of place. The dialogue not only drives the plot, but lets the reader get a feel for the particular characters.
Authors voice: Static (which is good in this case) and quite entertaining to read!
