Remember how I said I was going to sleep?
I was wrong.
I've been trying to sleep for hours. It's now 2:30 am, and all I've been able to do was think. There's just too much going on.
I was just starting at the ceiling thinking , when I heard my door open. I turned my head around to see Cassian.
"Can I come in" he whispered softly.
I nodded and he closed the door. He slowly walked around the room, and I gesture for him to sit on the bed. He hesitates for a second, but then agrees.
Is there something wrong with sitting on my bed?
"Can't sleep?" I ask.
"Yea. You?" He questions back.
I nod.
We sit in a comfortable silence for a few minutes, until I decide to break it.
"What were your parents like?" I ask.
"M-my parents?" He questions back.
"Yea"
"There isn't much to talk about my parents. My father was killed during the clone wars while protesting. My mother, well I never knew her." Cassian tells me.
"How about you? Your father was the famous Galen Erso, and you've never mentioned your mother. What were they like?" Cassian questions.
"Well, my father was a theoretician, mathematician, and experimental physicist" I say. "While in the Futures Program, he met Orson Krennic. They were best friends. My father then traveled the galaxy on research missions for rare crystals. That's how he met my mother, Lyra. A few years later, they got married. They then had me. He later got imprisoned, but got rescued by is long time friend, Krennic. He was then working for the Republic Special Weapons Group, and was occupied to work on the Death Star. We left and went into hiding. A few years later, the empire found us and tried to bring my father back. He refused, and they killed my mother right before my eyes. They took him back and I was then raised by Saw Gerrera."
A tear fell down my cheek. I quickly wipe it away. I didn't want to break down in front of Cassian, no matter how broken I was. I shouldn't cry every time I mention my parents.
"Jyn, can I tell you something?" Cassian brings up out of nowhere.
"Yea, anything."
"When I first saw you when you came to the rebel base, I started to fall for you. We then went on all these missions and I couldn't stop thinking about you. When we were on Scarif and I thought we were about to die, I wanted to spend my last moments with you. And now here we are alive and well." He pauses for a moment.
"Jyn Erso, I'm not just falling for you." Cassian starts to say. "But I am in love with you."
I look at him with shock. Not in a million years was I expecting this. But then an idea comes into mind and I decide to do it. Better now than never.
I look Cassian right in the eyes. I lean in and kiss him. He first hesitates but then relaxes and kisses back.
During this kiss, all my worries slowly fade away. I feel something I've never felt before. And god was it amazing. We kiss with more passion, and then we pull apart. We both smile at each other.
"I love you too, Cassian."
He gives me the biggest smile I've ever seen on his face. "This is the happiest moment of my whole entire life"
"Same" I reply.
I look down at the bed and back up to Cassian. "Will you stay with me?"
"Of course"
I scoot over to one side of the bed and Cassian comes right beside me. I rest my head on his chest and he brings his arms up and wraps them around me.
"Goodnight, Cassian"
"Goodnight, Jyn"
