I ran towards the nurse with a smile on my lips. "Thank you so much! I was starving." She handed me aurora and just in time if aurora knew I wasn't nearby she would begin to cry which is what had made it hard in the beginning.
"Mama!" Aurora cooed as I put her in my arms I kissed her forehead softly." Hi baby! Did you like seeing Dada?" She just smiled at me.
I looked at the nurse and her shocked expression I guess she really thought they were my siblings." Oh my. I thought they were your siblings." She was saying it slowly as if hoping it wouldn't offend me. I smile at her in understanding.
"Its fine its actually very expected. But he's blonde and I'm not and he has greenish eyes mines are more on the grey side but I see where your coming from its just what people come to as an explanation." I shrugged nonchalantly. I put down aurora in her stroller and slipped carter in next to her.
I walked over to my one love and leaned down and kissed his lips softly." I love you carter." This had always been the hardest part. My eyes watered as I left the room.
"Don't worry dear. Stay strong!" She called after me and I truly appreciated it. Now to get home and put these children in a bath.
I jumped out the car I guess my parents aren't coming home today but I don't mind it this happens every once in a while and only if its a must and is important.
When I carried the kids in I walked up the stairs and into their room to get their clothes for their showers.
Aurora went first as I pulled off her dress and bathed her silently singing to her. I always sang the little mermaids part of your world whenever she was in the shower. For carter I sang his dads favorite song. The one he sang when he asked me to be his. Two is better than one.
I'll never forget that day I hummed as I wrapped him up in his froggy towel and lay him beside his sister I rubbed their bodies down with baby lotion then got them dressed. Rora wore a sleeping beauty one suit while carter wore a lightning McQueen one suit. Mom had made these a part of her fashion line that she started for children after they were born. We laid down on my bed and watched sleeping beauty. And soon we fell asleep together them in my arms and my heart full of love.
