Chapter 26: Letting Go

Natsuki's POV

I sit on a bench in front of my old music school. The one where I'd become a prodigy violinist as a child. I'd always trusted my music teacher but then she'd taken the amazing song I'd written. That's when I was born The voice in my head called Satsuki says. Why did you take all of my pain? I ask him. Because I was born to protect you he says. I'm stronger now, I have Starish and (Y/N) I tell him. I know, that's why I'm going to sleep now He says. Thank you for being there for me, I'm sorry you took so much pain I say. Natsuki, please tell her I said goodbye He says. I know that he's talking about (Y/N), the girl who makes both of us stronger. I feel his presence fade away.

That's when I notice Syo standing in front of me. 'Syoooo!' I say happily, throwing my arms around him and hugging him. I expect him to struggle but instead he just pats my back. 'Are you okay Natsuki?' I hear Cecil's voice say, I let go of Syo and notice the four other Starish members. I smile warmly at them 'I'm okay, I don't remember much from last night.' I say. 'What about Satsuki?' Syo asks. 'He has gone to sleep. Where are Otoya and (Y/N)?' I ask. 'They're missing, we're trying to find them.' Ichinose replies sadly. I get up 'Well let's go! I'm sure we'll be able to find them!' I say positively.

Otoya's POV

I stand in the now dead sunflower field. I can see my aunty up a head saying 'Keep you head up towards the sun, Ikki. And keep smiling like a sunflower.' She fades away. 'Aunty! Please come back! It's all my fault, I'm sorry!' I call. The ghost of another girl than appears, (Y/N). 'You need to go back to them Otoya.' She says. 'I still can't face them... I still can't smile.' I say looking towards the ground. I feel the ghost of her hand pulling my face up to look at hers 'I know you can smile, please smile for me.' She says. She fades away and I find myself looking up at the sun which has now appeared from behind a cloud. 'Otoya!' I hear the Starish members calling me from behind. And that's when I smile. I turn towards them and they all smile back at me.

'I'm sorry everyone, I promise that my smiles are genuine and that I'll keep smiling.' I say. 'We missed you.' Tokiya says, I run up and hug him. When I let go Natsuki embraces me, squeezing me tightly. He pulls back and we smile at each other, but then he says '(Y/N)-chan is missing.' 'She was with us last night. Do you guys have any idea where she went?' I ask. They shake their heads, so I join them and we go looking for her.

It is around midnight when we stop for a break and Masa says 'Where would you go to grieve your past life?' 'Well, the lady is from (H/C) so she'd go somewhere that she could feel close to it.' Ren says. '(H/C) is just across the ocean... I think I know where she is.' Tokiya says. 'We're coming princess.' Cecil says. 'Your brave knights will find you.' Syo says. 'Hold on (Y/N), we'll find you.' I whisper. Together, the seven of us set out to save the girl we love.

(Y/N)'s POV

I sit on the grass by the ocean at the place where me and Ichinose had our first date. The breeze gently blows my hair away from my face. I stare at the remnants of my past in my hands, a shard of bottle glass and a small hand written note. The glass is the piece that I would cling to if I ever needed pain to help me hold on and the note simply says I can't do this anymore in the boy I used to love's handwriting. I've held onto this pain for too long, I finally need to let go. I throw the remnants into the ocean, watching as one sinks and the other drifts away. And that's when I hear seven angelic voices.

I turn around and my eyes meet with seven others, a single tear falls down my cheek. I want you to try placing your hand on my chest for a moment Masato sings as he grabs my hand and places it over his heart. He moves away and Syo comes up to me singing You can feel it, can't you? It's a happy sound he wipes away the tear with his thumb. Otoya then replaces him, hugging me tightly from behind and singing in my ear This pleasant sound is a melody just for you. He lets go and Cecil comes up, grabbing both of my hands as he sings This hidden rhythm, please believe in it. He lets go and Otoya sings Both joy, Syo sings and courage. Natsuki hugs me tightly as he sings And tomorrow that comes after this. He lets go and Masato sings are spun together, Cecil sings with music. Ichinose comes up and tucks my hair behind my ear as he sings And even tears. He lets go as Otoya and Cecil sing Let me, Masato and Syo than sing be responsible for half, Natsuki and Ichinose sing of the entire burden. Otoya, Masato, Syo and Cecil sing I'll always, as Ren approaches me and wraps his arms around my waist be by your side he sings.

He pulls back and the seven of them sing together We love your song. We need you. Otoya sings You are who you are, Ren sings as you are now, Masato joins him We'll paint our dreams. They all sing We love your song. We feel you. Ichinose sings Let's go down this star road together, Syo sings So then, Masato sings this symphony, Cecil sings we'll devote it to you. They all stop their singing and look at me smiling. 'Guys...' I say and that's when I let the tears spill 'I'm sorry, I'm so sorry.' I say, falling to my knees and putting my head in my hands. I hear several of them say my name gently, I look up and Otoya offers me his hand 'Let's go home.' He says.

I go to take it but then suddenly, Shining, Raging, Ringo and Hyuga appear. Hyuga holds a camera which he points in my direction, Ringo comes to my side and helps me to my feet. 'Hello Japan!' He says into a microphone 'I have a special announcement brought to you by both Shining Saotome and Raging Otori's labels. I present to you the new idol, (Y/N) (Y/LN)!' Shining and Raging come to stand beside us, Ringo continues 'She has been offered a double contract with these two labels, do you accept (Y/N)-chan?' He says as he hands me the mic. 'Yes!' Is all I say before I hand it back. '(Y/N)'s debut concert will be in a week, her supporting acts will be Starish, Quartet Night and Heavens! Tickets go on sale now!' He announces, Hyuga puts the camera down. 'Congratulations (Y/N)-chan!' Ringo says, giving me a hug. When he lets go, I look over at Shining, Raging and Hyuga, they just grin at me. A black limo pulls up and the four of them pile in, it drives off.

The seven boys beam at me 'Woohoo!' Syo yells as he thrusts his fist into the air. 'Go (Y/N)!' Otoya says happily. 'Let's run back home.' Ichinose suggests. 'I'm going to beat you all!' Syo says, running off. The other boys laugh at the challenge and chase after him. Natsuki stays behind with me and says 'I'll give you a piggyback (Y/N)-chan.' I grin at him and jump onto his back yelling 'Charge!' I wrap my arms around his shoulders and we take off after the other boys.
