I woke the next day, with a minor head ache and after eating breakfast, I had to take some painkillers. I got dressed in a baggy knit sweater and comfortable black leggings with a black classic Chanel handbag and leather boots to finish it off. Gavin was late as usual and he had practice again this afternoon so we decided to drive separately. I got on my side of the garage and was in a predicament on which vehicle I should take. Finally I decided to take my version of Gavin's Escalade, my also blacked out Mercedes Benz G55AMG. When I left, Gavin was still showering and I grinned to myself as I thought of what he'd do once he realized I was gone. Fifteen minutes later, as I was exiting a Starbucks drive-through, my phone rang. Smiling, I pressed a button on the steering wheel that activated the Bluetooth sync.
"Hello," I greeted cheerfully.
"Don't hello me! I can't believe you left me," Gavin shrieked like the girl that he was.
I chuckled and took a sip of my latte as I got on the freeway. "I told you that I wasn't going to be late again. It's not my fault you take the longest to get ready. I'll see you at school dear," I said sweetly.
"I hate you! I'm going to get all your Birkins and set them on fire!" he screamed on the phone and I laughed. My large Hermes Birkin collection was the envy of many girls and my pride and joy beside my car collection.
"I love you too Gav, and for your info babes, I locked my closet and my room," I retorted.
"Now I have to be late all alone! Do you know how stupid it looks to be late alone?" he asked me incredulously.
"Do you know how stupid it looks to be late period? I got to go, I'm almost at the school. And you better hurry, I have a skinny macchiato with your name on it," I warned.
"You are such a witch, but I love you. I'll be there in fifteen. What car did you take by the way?" he asked.
"The Merc G55," I answered.
"Yes! We match, kind of," he replied.
"Uhu, now get to it douche bag," I said and hung up.
By this time I had made it to the school lot and I was looking for a place to park. It looked as though all the middle and back rows were all taken so I had to park somewhere in the semi-front. I Got Gavin and my things and hopped out of the car, making sure to lock it and headed towards the front quad. A few students were lounging casually on the grass while others were sitting on the benches and tables. I was headed for my class when I felt a presence watching me. I stopped and turned, looking for the source. Sure enough Trey was casually leaning against a tree, staring at me with an intensity I couldn't comprehend. He pushed off the tree and strolled casually towards me. A causality that did not match the intensity in his eyes.
"Good morning," he drawled and I just like that my nerves were shot.
"Morning," I mumbled back.
"Where are you headed?" he asked.
"Gamling's class," I answered.
"Let me walk you there," he offered and gave me no choice as he started walking, so I just walked beside him.
"How are you this morning? Is your head still bothering you?"
"I'm feeling better than last night. Just a little headache when I woke up, but I took some pain meds for it," I answered.
"That's good. Tell me if you feel anything out of the normal," he said gently but made it no less of a command. I nodded and he glanced down at me holding the two disposable coffee cups.
"Where's your friend?" he asked, still eyeing the coffee.
"Probably on the freeway now. He was late again, so I decided to leave without him," I said with a smile.
"Hhhmm, so when do you think you'd be able to talk to me privately?" he asked. I was taken back by this so I stopped just shy of Gamling's door and looked at him fully. He was really tall I registered. I barely even came up to his chest.
"Why do you want to talk?" I asked carefully. Instead of answering me he leaned down ever so slowly and gave me a brief kiss.
"I won't tell you what about just yet, but that should be a pretty good hint," he rasped as he caged me in and whispered in my ear. Before I could ask any more questions, he backed away and left. We hadn't even set a time to meet yet, was my last thought before I headed in for class.
Gavin was late and the teacher was pissed at him. He gave her a charming melt your heart smile and she dismissed him to sit down. Lucky bastard, I thought to myself.
"Where's my skinny?" he asked as he settled beside me. I passed it to him.
"You're welcome, you ungrateful little turd," I retorted and went back to my work.
After first period commenced Gavin and I walked to my class where he left me and him and me made plans to meet up for lunch as usual. As I was awaiting for the professor of the class a curvy blonde approached me. It was clear that she was a prep. His hair was done perfectly and her make-up was heavily caked on. She gave me what would have appeared to be a friendly smile, had it not been for the evil gleam in her eye.
"You're new here aren't you?" she asked sweetly.
"I am," I replied politely.
"Well, do you know my boyfriend?" she asked and I knew she was trying to get a point across. Plus her friends were all wearing smug looks like I was about to be shown up.
"That depends. Who would he be?" I asked just as sweetly.
"Trey Crestwell," she answered and her cattiness shined through when she arched a brow.
"Oh him. Yeah, I guess I do," I said and gave her nothing more than that.
"Well a couple of my friends told me you got a little too friendly with him today. Don't let it happen again and you'll be fine. For now," she threatened. She was about to leave when I spoke up.
"Yeah, your friends must have told you wrong because I wasn't getting friendly with him. It opposite actually. Maybe you should keep him on a tighter leash," I said and smiled. She seemed flabbergasted that I would talk back to her. She looked as if she was to say more but then the blonde guy from Trey's group came up.
"Hey Ashley, being a witch again I see. Trey wouldn't want to hear about you talking to her. Much less in that manner. So shut up and get away. That means your clowns too," he commanded. Ashley seemed scared and pissed all at the same time and left with a huff.
"Sebastian, nice to meet you," he smiled widely and extended his hand.
"Jayde, thanks for that," I said genuinely and shook his hand.
"You were handling it fine actually, but she was getting on my nerves and Trey wouldn't have been happy if I let that go on for any longer," he said. I was surprised. It seemed like everyone treated Trey like he was god over here.
"Regardless, thank you. She was starting to make my head ache come back," I joked. He smiled shyly and scratched the back of his head sheepishly.
"About that. I'm really sorry. I was trying to do a back kick, but it bounced on the net and you know, the rest is history," he confessed. He looked like he was expecting me to scream at him or something similar.
"It's okay. Just make sure no one's around when you do that again," I said and smiled.
"You're a cool chick," he said and walked away with a smile.
