Chapter Five

~Toothless's POV~
It just....ran off. "Toothless go after it." I nodded and did as Hiccup said. I sped off into its direction. I couldn't find it until five minutes passed and I saw it was hiding in a dark cave.
It wouldn't let me in, "Hey? Are you okay?" No response, "Shoot a small flame at me if you're ok." It did as told, "Did you get scared? They won't hurt you. Dragons and humans live in peace on the island. Nothing, "Stay here I'll go get my rider."
I ran back to Hiccup. They were talking about what to do since it was obviously very scared. No idea what kind of damage it could do. I nudged Hiccup's arm and motioned towards the forest. "Ah good you found them bud. Is it alright?" I nod my head. "Good, well," he looked back at the visitors, "let's get you all settled in and then we'll go check on that dragon."
He led them to one of the empty houses we have here on Berk. Useful for when we have visitors staying for a while.
~Hiccup's POV~
It was strange that the dragon was so scared. Oh well, I'll deal with it later. "So this is where you'll all be staying. There are three rooms upstairs and the kitchen and stuff down here." Fergus went upstairs to put their stuff down while Elinor introduced me to who I think is her daughter.
"Hiccup, I'd like you to meet my daughter Merida."
"It's nice to meet you Merida."
"It's good to meet you too Hiccup."
Silence~(does anyone else hear crickets? *chirping in the background*)
"Heh ok. Hiccup since you need to check on the dragon why don't you bring Merida with you? She loves a good adventure."
"Oh ok sure. Well if she want to." I say with a smile. She seems like she'll be good friend. So far. "Sure. Let's go." She answers.
We head out of the house and towards Toothless. "Alright bud. Let's go check on that dragon."
~Merida's POV~
The dragon seemed excited. He was practically bouncing. He ran in a direction but he never went to far. He always stopped and waited for us to catch up. We went into a forest and he led us to a cave. "Ok bud. She's in there?" That Hiccup boy asked. The dragon shook his head yes.
Hiccup slowly started for the cave. "Hiccup wait," he stopped and looked at me confused, "Maybe I should go in. It seems a little...uneasy around you."
"Oh yeah I get it. We've only just met. Go ahead." He made a gesture telling me to go. I went in slowly. I saw bright (e/c) open. The exact same ones the dragon had. "Hey, it's okay." It let me get close to it but it wouldn't let me touch it. So I went back out
"Anything?" Hiccup asked me.
"Yeah, it's just shy. I can get close to it but not touch it."
"We'll check on it again later. We'll bring some food next time." I nod and we all head back. Toothless kept glancing back at the cave until it was out of sight.
