Time Skip: The Next Morning
Mike's P.O.V
"Mike, get up. Over," I heard Lucas through the radio.
"I know you're hearing this. I'm gonna pull the same thing you pulled on me if you don't get up. Over," he told me.
I was not in the mood.
"Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike..." he repeated.
"Okay, okay. That's my name. Don't wear it out. Over," I finally said.
"There we go. Now on to what's important. Eleven needs to meet Will. Over," Lucas said, sternly.
I hadn't even given that a thought and Will deserved an introduction, I guess.
"You're right. You guys should come over in a couple hours. Over," I told him.
"I'll let everyone know then. Over," he answered.
Even before Lucas was gone, my mom was calling upstairs.
"El's already up. Can you come down here, Michael?"
"Coming! It's okay if the guys come over today, right?," I asked in the direction of the stairs.
"Michael, you know I don't like when you plan things without telling me first these days, but yes, I guess it's fine," she lectured.
I got dressed for the day quickly and headed to the kitchen to give El a big hug from behind.
Her shoulders were tense until she realized it was me and looked up at me, smiling sheepishly.
"You're gonna get to meet Will, officially, later," I told her.
"He's better?" she questioned. Her face showed a peek of concern.
I nodded and she visibly relaxed. I found it sweet that she cared about Will. Although a
minuscule tinge of jealousy rang hidden.
After eating a breakfast of, you guessed it, eggos, El and I both did our small morning routines.
She wore one of her new outfits, a blue tank top and black jeans to match. Every time she came
out wearing something new, my jaw always seemed to drop. There was nothing she didn't look
good in.
Time Skip: 2:00 pm
I was starting to teach El a little about D & D when an abrupt knocking on the door startled the
both of us. We instinctively grabbed each others' hands without thinking and walked to open
the door together. It opened to a grinning Dustin with Will and Lucas behind him. They all
noticed our interlocked hands, of course and pointed teasingly. I rolled my eyes, but let them in.
We were always going over to the others' houses, so they felt like home and it wasn't long
before Dustin had sprawled out on the couch, only leaving a little room for us. Will was last to
come in, yet did not act how I expected him to, shy. In fact, he ran to El and hugged her.
"You saved me. Thank you," he said, warmly.
I thought that was my line.
"You're welcome," she stuttered back. I don't think she was sure if she was saying the right
thing.
Will's P.O.V
Eleven didn't necessarily seem like she was some bad-ass girl with powers, but I had to admit
she was quite pretty compared to girls at the high school and hugging her was pretty nice.
Wait a second. What am I thinking? Eleven is Mike's and Mike's is Eleven's. They are crazy about
each other. I guess I sort of understand how Jonathan felt about Nancy being with Steve now.
Dustin and Lucas were next to hug El. I wondered if Mike was envious at all. I was.
Mike's P.O.V
Being with the El and the boys made me happy, but it also reminded me about the disaster
snowball. I wished that I had found El before it, so we could have gone together like I had
envisioned. I could just picture her in a pretty dress dancing to the latest pop song.
Apparently, my emotions showed on my face more than I thought because Will was fast to
notice something was up. Maybe El noticed too because she snuggled closer to me on the edge
of the couch.
"Mike, what is it?" he finally asked.
"Oh thank God. I thought I was the only one," Dustin exclaimed.
"Yeah me too," Lucas added.
El looked up at me like earlier in the morning, but this time her face showed worry.
"Well," I started. "I'm kind of sad about the snowball," I said, barely audible.
"We should do something about it," Dustin chirped. He was making that face I recognized.
He had an idea.
~Author's Note~
Hey guys. I apologize I took so long to update. I'm going to try to put a schedule to it and update every weekend now, so it should get better. I tried to make this chapter longer. What do you guys think Dustin's idea is? ;) Let me know if you are enjoying this or if you have suggestions. I love hearing from you guys. It makes my day.
