"Have you recovered?"

I stiffened in response his question, slowly rotating my shoulder as a small groan escaped my lips. I've relatively healed... just a little sore. The Prince rolled his eyes, leaning back into his golden throne with a content sigh.

"General Pixis is due to arrive within the next couple of days. I expect your presence to be by my side, no matter what."

I bowed; the Prince lowered his chin onto his palm and remained silent for a few seconds. He looks rather royal today.... more so than usual.

"We're attending another afternoon tea. I expect to be guarded to the highest standard."

I bowed a second time as the Prince stood from his throne, loosening his cravat. I sensed his immense lack of interest in attending the event, but didn't question further.

"I need some tea."

A real shame servants can't eat or drink any of the food served... I'd eat everything placed onto the table without a moments hesitation.

We began to walk down the hallway in silence. Usually we have something of importance to discuss, but the assassin situation has already been addressed... passing under the arch, the lively tea hall soon captured my attention, nobles enjoying fresh baked goods and warm drinks - all gently talking amongst themselves.

Where do I sign up?

"Our table is different today, I've requested the balcony."

I furrowed my brows in confusion. We've never changed tables before... has the Prince become bored of the scenery? The two of us walked up a small flight of wooden stairs and up onto a rounded balcony. I marvelled at an elegantly prepared glass table, served with small scones and a fresh pot of tea.

"Petra is late due to her riding lesson. I still expect you to remain beside me."

I half bowed as the Prince sat down into a beautiful chair, crossing his arms. Damn... there's cake too. I must of admired the food for a little longer than I thought as the Price spoke up.

"You're drooling."

I shot my hand up to wipe my chin, only the Prince flashed an amused smirk. It's too late... I fell for his trick.

"How dense are you?"

I dismissively crossed my arms, feeling my features darken into a glare. Damn him.

"If you're that desperate..."

The Prince lowered his fork into a warm scone- removing a small piece and holding the treat out in front of me.

"Try some."

I froze up at the scene in front of me. Is he insane?! If anyone sees this! The Prince held the fork out with a smirk.

"Relax. No one can see."

I glanced around us - it's true. I remained still as the Prince soon became impatient at my reluctance.
