A Night to Remember...

As soon as I walked through the door, I locked it and headed up to my bedroom. Throwing the keys on the shelf, I went over to the balcony doors and locked it. I locked the windows in my room, since they were the only ones in the house that weren't locked, then shut the blinds and closed the curtains. When I was certain everything was locked and closed, I let out a huge sigh and undressed into a slinky short black nightgown. Then, I grabbed the remote to my flat-screen, cut on the air, and got under my comforter on the bed, getting comfortable.

And just when I started to get comfortable, the knocking came... right from the foot of my bed. Knock. knock. knock. I froze as three more knocks followed. Knock. knock. knock.

I knew who this is. How could I ever forget the first time I've ever seen a actual vampire before. Quickly, I snapped my eyes shut.

"I know you hear me, Roza," his voice purred my name out in Russian. "And I know you're not sleeping."

I kept my eyes closed anyway and tried to keep my breathing from going faster. My heart nearly stopped though when I felt his cold breath suddenly hit the side of my face. I felt his cold, but soft lips brush my cheek.

"Just to let you know, I'm not stopping until you open your eyes and stop faking." he whispered in my ear.

Not wanting to see his face, I kept my eyes closed and tried to ignore him as he trailed his lips from my cheek to my forehead, then to my nose. I opened my eyes fast when I realized he wasn't kidding.

He was headed to my lips when I opened my eyes. Staring into them, he smiled. This time though, his teeth were normal and white.

"Wh- Who are you?" I managed to get out in a choked whisper.

He cocked his head slightly before grinning. "I'm just what the devil ordered," he answered.

My eye widened. "Why are you here?" I asked.

"Because of the deal you made. Remember? I'll be here for you soon-to-be everlasting life, Rose," he smiled and his intimidating fangs reappeared. He stood and one second he was at the end of the bed. The next second, he was gone.

At least that's what I thought before his warm breath blew against the back of my neck. I turned to face him, making sure to avert my eyes from his, remembering the tales about vampires.

He lifted a finger to my neck and I flinched. "Don't worry, Roza," he purred my name in Russian. "This won't hurt a bit."

Downright terrified, I tried to jump up and get away from him as quickly as I could... Only some invisible force held me in place. I whimpered and closed my eyes, waiting for the pain.

The bite I thought would cause pain caused the exact opposite: pleasure. I sighed as a warm, snuggly, calm feeling washed over me. It felt like paradise for a while, but then I began to get lightheaded.

I opened my eyes and found him an inch from my face. He kissed me, making my light-headedness increase. The last thing I saw before I blacked out were his glowing, blood-stained, sharp fangs as he smiled down at me in adoration...
