Quinn was standing by her locker with Kurt when David, the school bully, came over to them. He was a big, strong boy with an angry face. He stopped in front of Quinn. "Hey, Lucy Caboosey." He laughed.

Quinn froze. She stared at him in shock. Her face fell, tears formed in her eyes.

"What is it Lucy? Does it hurt?" David pushed Quinn up against the lockers by the shoulders.

Quinn flinched, frozen with fear. She looked to Kurt for some help but he had already run off, too afraid to stick up for her.

David kicked Quinn in the shin. She gasped in pain. The tears fell from her eyes and she landed on the floor when David pushed her.

"Come on Lucy Caboosey, fight back." David yelled at her.

Quinn flinched at the harshness in his voice.

"Hey! David!" David spun round to come face to face with Rachel. "Why don't you pick on someone your own size." Rachel yelled.

David swallowed thickly. He shook his head and walked away.

Rachel sighed, kneeling down beside Quinn, who was curled up in a ball, crying her eyes out. Rachel gently put her hand on Quinn's shoulder. The blonde girl flinched at the contact. Rachel swallowed. "Quinn." She said softly.

Quinn looked up at Rachel with teary eyes. Rachel gave Quinn and sad smile and took her hand off of Quinn's shoulder. She took Quinn's hand in her own and helped the blonde to her feet. She tugged gently on Quinn's hand insisting that the blonde girl followed her.

Quinn had no choice but to follow Rachel, there hands connected. Quinn couldn't see where she was going, her eyes were too water. She trusted that Rachel wouldn't let anyone walk into her or let her walk into anyone. Rachel could have been taking her anywhere and Quinn wouldn't know where she was. But she didn't care, she was too upset to care what happened to her at this current moment in time.

Rachel led Quinn through a door and then stopped suddenly, causing Quinn to nearly fall into her. Rachel ran her other hand down Quinn's cheek. She smiled and then pulled Quinn into a hug, their other hands still connected.

Quinn rested her head on Rachel's shoulder and sobbed, tears running down her cheeks and landing on Rachel's shirt.

Rachel stroked the back of Quinn's head, rubbing her hand through the girl's long, soft blond hair. She twirled the ends of it around her finger.

This seemed to calm Quinn and Rachel smiled to herself. Quinn enjoyed the comfort of Rachel's hug. It was nothing like Finn's hugs. His were rough and short. Her's were long and soft.

Rachel hummed softly in Quinn's ear. Quinn hummed back. She seemed quite content on Rachel's hold.

The two girls just stood there in each other's arms for the remainder of their free period.
