Quinn and Grace sat beside each other on the bus that was taking them to the school that was hosting Regionals that year. They sat in silence, going over in their heads: the music, the dance movies and the lyrics. They were both extremely nervous

Quinn was nervous because she'd left Caroline with her sister, Frannie, and her husband for the week that she was away with The New Directions at Regionals. She didn't know how she felt about leaving her three-week-old daughter for the first time since she was born. She'd decided, the day after Finn had come to visit her in the hospital, to keep Caroline and raise her with her family's help.

Grace was nervous because she didn't feel comfortable with performing in front of such a big crowd but she knew she had to do it for the team. She'd been working with Lauren for the two weeks on perfecting the dance routines and hitting all the notes she had to at the same time. Lauren has really helped her feel a lot more confident and comfortable with performing in front of people.

Lauren has taken Grace to a small diner just off the highway out of town to sing at the open-mic-nights every other night. I really helped. They sang duets and solos, at least three songs a night. It was so much fun. Grace has enjoyed herself a lot more than she had expected, her confidence had skyrocketed.

The bus pulled onto the highway and Rachel let out a squeal of excitement form the seat in front of the blonde twins. "I can't wait to get there! We will do amazing! I know we will!"  She declared. "It's going to be so much fun!"

"Rachel, calm down." Mr Schuester said calmly.

"Quiet!" Puck demanded. "I'm trying to sleep."

Rachel rolled her eyes and turned to look at Quinn. "We'll do great. You'll do great." She reached over and placed her hand gently on Quinn's without anyone, including Grace, noticing. "I promise."

Quinn gave Rachel a small smile but didn't say anything. She took a deep breath and turned her hand over under Rachel's. She squeezed it softly and nodded slowly.

Rachel squeezed Quinn's hand again before pulling it away before anyone could notice and turned in her seat. She pulled the song lyrics out of her bag and turned again. She handed them to Quinn. "Here. Reading them will help with the nerves."

Quinn smiled gratefully and took the lyrics from Rachel. "Thank you." She whispered before training her eyes on the song sheets.

Rachel turned around in her seat again.

Grace took a deep breath. She glanced over her shoulder at Lauren who sat across the isle, staring out of the window. She couldn't help but admire how beautiful Lauren looked. A small smile crossed her face and she felt a little more at ease with the performance that would be coming soon.

Lauren turned her head to look across the isle at Grade to check if she was okay. Their eyes met and Lauren smiled encouraging at the blonde. Grace smiled back. They broke their gaze after a long while.

Quinn and Grace's nerves soon began to disappear as the journey went on and the two girls drifted into blissful dreams for the next two hours.
