Abby feels someone stroking her hair. Her eyelids flutter open. Marcus is propped up on his elbow.
"Good morning." Marcus tells her from his position.
"Morning." Abby replies, smiling.
"How did you sleep?" He asks her.
"I slept fine. What about you?" Abby asks.
"I slept great." Marcus says as he leans in to kiss her.
Marcus pulls back and leans against the headboard, holding Abby close.
"Last night Marcus. I didn't come to...you know. I came to talk to you about Azgeda." Abby says.
"Abby...shh...I have everything under control." He says.
Abby chuckles as she sits up. Marcus continues as he sits up too, what's wrong?"
"Callie said the same exact thing. What are you going to do about Azgeda?" Abby asks.
Marcus looks into her eyes, "come here." He says pulling her into his arms. Abby hugs him. "I love you and I promise, no matter what I have to do, I will not let Azgeda hurt any of our people."
"Marcus-" Abby says, pulling away and looking into his eyes.
"Trust me. Please." Marcus begs.
"Of course." Abby says as she gives him another kiss.
Marcus pushes her away, "what time is it?" He asks.
"I don't know. Why?" Abby asks.
"Cause I have a meeting," Marcus says grabbing the watch on the night stand next to him and looking at the time, "in a couple hours." Marcus puts the watch back down, "but I have to leave in ten minutes."
Marcus looks at Abby and smiles, "I've got to go." He gets up and starts getting ready.
Abby watches him carefully as he dresses. His back is towards her. She watches as he pulls his t-shirt on and puts his guard jacket on over the shirt."Marcus?" Abby asks.
Marcus turns around and walks toward her. He smiles, then leans down and gives her a kiss, "I'll be back in 2 days, I promise."
Later that day
Marcus and the convoy are taking a break by the stream, "hey Kane." Bellamy greets him.
"Bellamy. How are you this fine day?" Marcus asks.
"I'm good. I was wanting to ask you a question." Bellamy states.
"Ask away." Marcus says as he refills his water canister.
"Don't you think you should've told Abby about this. I mean she did warn you about Azgeda. And we are marching into their territory for what? Hope that a bunker could hold supplies to last us till our crops are ready to be harvested." Bellamy tells him.
"Abby is on a need to know basis. What she doesn't know won't hurt her." Marcus says, screwing the lid on his canister.
Arkadia
Abby walks into the council chambers, "Callie?" Abby asks.
"Abby. Come in. I could use the company. Marcus has me watching the radar for any unfriendly company." Callie says sitting in a chair, drinking a glass of water.
Abby looks at the map. "In Azgeda?" She asks.
"Well yeah. We wouldn't want any Azgeda troops to attack our convoys." Callie says.
"What?" Abby asks.
"The Mission Marcus went on. Didn't he tell you before he left?" Callie asks.
"He said he was going on a mission not that he was going into Azgeda!" Abby yells.
"I'm sure he had his reasons for not telling you." Callie says.
"He did. He thought he could not tell me and I would never find out so it wouldn't hurt us." Abby says.
"Us? Wait are you two-" Callie says.
"We were. But not anymore. He just broke my trust. He asked me to trust him and I did, but he just destroyed whatever trust was left between us." Abby says walking angrily out of the room.
2 days later
The convoys roll into Arkadia and Abby is waiting by the garage for Marcus to hop out of the rover. When he does, along with Bellamy, she stares directly at him.
"Don't worry Kane. What she doesn't know won't hurt her right?" Bellamy says, helping unload the supplies.
Marcus takes a step towards her, "Abby, I can explain-" Marcus says.
Abby shakes her head, "don't." She says then she walks off toward medical.
