-3rd point of view-

Jessica sits in bed, not wanting to move from under the warm, comfortable position she was in, but the smell of bacon fills the air, motivating her to get up and get ready for her day.

She tucks the money Kevin gave her inside her jean's pocket, then picks up her sneakers and heads towards the kitchen.

Kevin stands in front of the stove, cooking breakfast for his family. V sits at the table, cutting pancakes into small pieces for her daughters.  She looks up at Jessica "Where are you off to" Jessica looks at Kevin, who has already been looking at her "To go get myself some clothes and things for my room, I'm sure you'll be pleased" Kevin smiled and nodded "Sure am. I bet they never did anything like this for you at that foster home. Always sharing, never anything of your own"

Jessica looked down at her shoes. Guilt bubbling up inside her. Kevin wasn't wrong about that. She lived in a home where there were two babies, three toddlers, four middle aged children, and five teenagers. Three where boys. It was hard getting along with basically any one of them. There was hardly any room to move, and money was even harder to come by.

She pushes the thoughts of her old home to the back of her head. New town, new home, new life, new memories.

"I'll see you guys later. Don't wait up" Jessica said over her shoulder, Kev waved and V just gave a smile and nodded. She swung the door open and stepped outside, taking in the fresh spring air. She put her shoes on at the bottom of the steps, then pulled out her phone and googled the nearest mall. It's basically in the next town. Just as she was passing the Gallagher house, the door opened, and Lip came jumping down the steps.

"What, do you just watch the window until I come outside? Jess laughed. Lip looked down at his boots "No, I, uh, I have to go to the store." He looked back up at her and smiled "If you need company, I would gladly postpone my trip." Butterflies spread throughout Jessica's body. She would be lying if she said she didn't find Lip Gallagher attractive. Blonde hair, blue eyes, he's the whole nine yards.

"Do you know how to get to the mall?" She asked. "Yeah, it's a little far, we can just catch the train, If you don't mind" lip answered.

They spent the next half hour on the train, sharing small talk, getting to know one another. Jessica could tell that Lip is the kind of guy who's used to getting the girl he wanted. Even with knowing that information, she still want to put herself out there and get to know him...the real him.

"There's this party at my college this weekend...do you want to go?" He asked, staring out the window. "I've never actually been to a party before...but...if you promise not to leave my side I'll go." Feelings washed over Lip's body. He knew he had to slow down or she would get under his skin just like his last relationship.

The train shifted, the wheels started screeching on the track as they began to slow down. Jessica could see the mall from the exit ramp of the train station. It was bigger than most malls she'd been to in Michigan.

---2 hours later---

Lip sits alone at a table in the food court. Bags were scattered along the floor by his ankles. He had ordered two personal pizzas for the two and a drink to share. A smile spread on his lips, he thought to himself, that this is his first unofficial date that he had ever been on. He even bought the food for them versus stealing it while someone wasn't looking.

He looked up, his eyes instantly glued to Jessica's face as she walks out of the hallway the bathrooms are located in. "She'a so beautiful and she doesn't even have a clue" he mumbles under his breath.

"Those bathrooms were absolutely gross" she laughs as she pulls a chair out to sit in. Her feet touch Lip's as she pulls herself closer to the table "Did you buy this?" He nodded "well thank you." He coughed and licked his lips "you'll get used to the filth of Chicago. So what city were you from in Michigan?" He asked while taking a bite of his food. "Uhm well, have you ever heard of Port Huron?" Lip shook his head no "I've heard of Detroit, Flint, the crime ones.." she cut him off "okay well Port Huron is over by Detroit. I lived in between the two cities. Small town, not much money" Jessica could see the restraint on his face. He wants to ask about her personal life, old home, but he gives her the respect of telling him on her own. "Ask me" She says. Staring straight at his face "I'm not going to bite. Just ask. If it's an uncomfortable or awkward question...I just won't answer" she finished with a smile.

"What was your old home like?"
