~~Later that night~~

"That move you pulled was insane!" I shouted at Elijah as I walked upstairs. Elijah stayed at the bottom of them.

"I completely disagree. By showing you off, my sister, and whether he likes it or not, my brother is your protector. You are untouchable now,"  he argued.

"Urg!" I shouted, I was angry but had nothing to say to that. Elijah vampire sprinted up the stairs and right in front of me. He put his hands on my hips. I pushed his hands off. Something didn't feel right.

"Please don't be angry with me," he pleaded. I shook my head. "Rose..." he started.

"Ah!" I shouted and quickly held my stomach. Elijah quickly realized the issue wasn't with him.

"What is it?" Elijah asked staying calm.

"I don't know," I said struggling. Elijah began to panic a little. Elijah sat me down on the bed.

"Stay right here, I'll be right back," he said running downstairs. I sat on the bed holding my stomach. I couldn't describe the feeling. Suddenly it felt as if there was a kick then it stopped. I took a deep breath.

"Elijah! It's okay, it passed," I said rubbing my stomach. Elijah rushed back into the room relieved. He sat down next to me and held my stomach with me. "Where were you going?" I asked.

"To talk to a specialist," he said. I nodded. I laid back onto the bed and Elijah laid with me, holding me. I couldn't hide my fear and neither could he but he comforted me.

~~Next day~~

I struggled to open my eyes, my body just wanted to rest but my mind was awake.

"Elijah," I whispered. Finally, my eyes were able to open. I looked down at my stomach... "Elijah," I said much louder. My stomach was three months pregnant within a couple of days?? But it took a week to form! Rebecca was probably right... This was insane!! Elijah sat up and immediately saw what I was talking about...

Elijah lugged me into the car and to see a special vampire doctor, most likely the one Klaus had taken me to. When we arrived I found it was.

"Nice to see you again miss Rose," he said. I smiled and Elijah seemed to be a bit jealous. "Wait... are you?" He asked looking down at my stomach.

"Yeah. I know right," I said smiling. He got closer.

"May I?" He asked reaching for my belly.

"Yeah, go ahead," I said. He touched my stomach and seemed to be listening.

"Wow," he said amazed. "How far along are you?" He asked standing up.

"We just found out the other day..." I said looking back at Elijah.

"Really?" He seemed very surprised.

"What is it?" I asked.

"Well. This is the first time ever that a vampire and a hybrid had a child. Everything is new to me. I know I'm the specialist, but... I can only guess. An educated guess.. but still a guess," he started to say, he seemed to be lying though.

"So, what do we do?" I asked.

"Well.. All you can do is carry this child. What I, can do is the question," he corrected.

"Then what can you do?" I asked.

"I can run some tests, see how far the baby has come along," Then the doctor began hooking me up to a monitor and pouring a gel onto my stomach. He then used a special instrument to see the baby. It was nothing but blurs not me and Elijah.

"Uh, would you mind if I documented this?" He asked.

"No, not at all. Anything that helps," I said.

"Wonderful," he said pulling out a journal and began writing down what information he had so far. Elijah sat in the corner of the room watching the doctor intently.

"Elijah," I said breaking his focus.

"Yes," he said looking to me.

"Will you please bring me some water," I asked.

"Yes, of course," he said quickly going to do what I asked. The doctor looked up at me.

"Thank you. I swear, any longer he would have burned holes through my head," he said laughing afterward.

"Haha. Yeah...." I started. "Alright tell me, you know more than you're leading on. What is going on this baby," I said. The doctor stopped writing. He slowly looked up.

"I-I," he started to say.

"No. Be truthful," I said sternly.

"Okay, okay. There has been a pregnancy like this.... a very long time ago," he said. "Same case as yours.... actually one of you're ancestors..." he said starting to get nervous.

"Woah. That's great! Right?" I questioned.

"There is no record of the mother or child surviving..." he finally said.

"Oh," I said. Elijah then came back into the room. He handed me a bottle of water and smiled at me then looked over at the doctor.

"Everything looks good. Baby is healthy, so is the mother. The pregnancy should only last about 7 months, shorter than normal... but... more painful," he said looking to me then Elijah. Then he began unhooking me and wiped the gel from my stomach.

"Thank you, doctor," I said. Elijah nodded. The doctor and I exchanged looks before going our separate ways.

Elijah started driving back home.

"What did you talk about after I left," Elijah said breaking the silence.

"I love you Elijah but that needs to wait," I said.

"What needs to wait?" He asked, his eyes leaving the road.

"Not now Elijah. We can sit down and talk about this later," I said.

"You are all I have Rose. You are my everything. I'd do anything for you and this child. Stop me if I'm wrong but, don't I deserve to know about your well being? About our child's well being?" he asked, his eyes looked glossy.

"Yes.... yes. I know. And I will tell you. I just... can't..." I said beginning to cry. Elijah's heart broke a little. He slowly pulled over the car to the side of the road. Woods surrounded us on both sides. Elijah got out of the car and pulled me out with him. He held me while I wept. He got down on his knees and hugged me.

"Tell me... please," he begged. I whipped my tears away.

"There has been a case like this.... But there is no record of the child or the mother surviving..." I said. Before weeping again. Elijah stood up and whipped my tears away.

"Rose... do you hear yourself," he said looking me into the eyes. "There's also no record of their deaths... There is still a chance. We still have a chance..." he said. I nodded.

"Rose. I will do whatever it takes to keep this family together. And I promise you that," he said then he stood up and kissed me, holding my belly.
