It had been two years since I had seen Klaus or Elijah. I fear I'm not gonna see them before my time is up. Elijah had come to me in many dreams and sometimes I feel him with me but when I open my eyes he is gone in a flash. I've convinced myself it wasn't real but that night, that kiss was real.

The rain air was heavy, and the clouds in the sky blocked all the sunlight. My happiness was stolen from me once again, but this time it was different. Everything was different now and forever. I stood alone above an empty grave, staring into it as if my father wasn't going into it. Soon a crowd of strangers and a few neighbors stood around the pit. A man spoke a few meaningless words and filled the hole, with my dead father inside. I walked myself home and closed my doors. By default, the house was mine but as soon as it occurred to the town that I wasn't married yet, I would be homeless. I ran into my chamber and pulled up my floor boards. I pulled out the horrid book and snatched the bucket from the kitchen. Suddenly I heard a knock on the door. I placed the book into the bucket and dropped them both right in front of the door. To my surprise, Elijah was at the door! I was speechless. He tried to walk in but since it was now my home he wasn't invited in yet. I tear rolled down my pained face. Elijah tried even harder to come in.

"Rosalena, invite me in," he said. I sat in front of the open door with the bucket in front of me. I used some oil we had in the cupboard and lit it with sparks. Elijah sat down outside and now his face was leveled with mine. "I'm sorry about your father Rosalena" Elijah expressed, keeping an eye on the blazing fire between us. I pushed it to his side of the door and let him dispose of it quickly. More tears streamed down my face, he reached out for me and I passed through the boundary letting him hold me. He picked me up in his arms and I invited him in. He carried me into my bedroom and laid me on the bed and sat with me. I put my head on his chest and listened to him talk.

"Please excuse my absence. I should not have left you. I apologize" he said then told me where he was.

"Why do I love you so?" I asked, our faces getting closer.

"Do you believe in destiny?" He asked right before my lips grazed his.

"No, I believe in fate," I said. The next kiss better than the last. He smiled showing his teeth then mine appeared making us kiss again...

"I want you to come with me" he whispered.

"I want to come with you too," I said. His face lit up. "Elijah, something about you makes me want you and I don't know why or how".

"Don't ask, just run away with me," Elijah said. Elijah and I jumped up at the same time and began packing my things. I was to leave this house anyway but now I'm not alone.
