Couple of days later,most people who'd attended the reception kept uploading pictures. Once, Jena was browsing through the comments when she saw a recent one from Nick stating:Was fun. Shout-out to more fun.
Someone replied:Yeah but dude, you were low spirited,no girls, no alcohol.Jena blushed knowingly,feeling guilty for stalking.At that point,everyone kept commenting on how he didn't seem to be himself when Jake,ever the monster typed:Y'all remember the girl he kept talking to during last practice and wouldn't let his phone drop?She's the reason.Just on cue,Mia called telling her to check Nick's instagram account and she confessed she already did. Mia laughed asking if she was stalking him, then voiced out that Jena hadn't spoken of him recently.Finding no need in lying,she told Mia they'd kissed and things were weird.

One evening at about 8pm, Jena's phone rang.An unknown number. She picked anyway.
"Hey Lee."Just one person called called her that,Albert.
"Hello Albert? "
"Lee. Tell me.Tell me if she treats you better than I did"
"Albert I don't know why you're asking but yes I'm ok"
"Lee, things are hard for me. I miss you. Can we..."
" I'm out of town and frankly, I don't have much to say to you now. Try calling some other time."She cut him off and hung up not giving him a chance to continue.
Rumour had it that he was dating some blonde who'd recently become a model but Nick had told her they'd broken up and that was probably why he wanted her back.She wasn't a piece of shit or a second option.

"Hey it's Jena. Been falling on your voicemail for the past one hour.Call me when you get this"
Nick called a good thirty minutes later, apologizing for his absence.Jena expressed her dissatisfaction with the distance between them.
"Jen I've Just been busy and you seem busy yourself"
"Nick if something is up, tell me."
"I could say the same to you. How's Albert? "
"Should be fine" she said flatly.They spoke platonically,Nick asked when she'd return but she has no idea. Later on, they hung up and Jena hoped things were going to be good,she didn't want to lose a friend because of some flimsy kiss.
