Launch had been scheduled for that afternoon.Jack was calm, no unnecessary anxiety. Jena on the other hand was anxious about her first blind date though she won't call it that or won't show it. She'd told just Fred and he'd told her she'll eat so much she'll fart to the consternation of all. Jena shot a stern glance his way and left to get ready for her date due in an hour. Jack had school since he was getting his degree in two weeks but that day school would be over at 12 so they agreed to meet at 3pm. She decided on something simple and casual to wear, got Fred's car keys and at 3:15 she was on her way.

At 3:30 pm, she was at the agreed restaurant and as soon as he got in, she saw a smirking Jack who was seated at a corner.She rushed over and muttered an apology for being late. He said a joke about ladies not knowing how to use watches and that sent them reeling with laughter.They ordered and talked over launch. After two hours or so, they were on their way. Jack offered to give her a ride but to his surprise she brought a car along. Jack chuckled, telling her how his 18 year old kid sister could barely start a car. "She's scared to death" he said."Well I'm not"Jena replied. Jack kissed her cheek and walked to the other end of the parking lot where he'd parked his car. For the first time that evening,Jena noticed his outfit. Casual but OK.

Jena got home and realized she'd gotten 5 missed calls from Nick.She returned the calls and apologized saying she was out with some friend. She'd forgotten it in her haste. They spoke for a bit trying to catch up on lost time. When they hung up, Nick felt like he was the only one trying to breach the distance little did he know that's how Jena felt too. They both hoped things were going to get better. Let time take its course.
