Chapter Three

It took me seconds to push him off of me. I ignored the tingling on my lips as he took one step backward even though I’d shoved him with what I thought was enough force to knock him down. Smirking, he placed himself above me once again, his eyes dark and his pearly whites gleaming at me. “You asshole!” I shouted, pushing him again, but he didn’t budge. Instead, he grabbed my hands, pushing them behind my back and switching our positions so that I was pushed against him as he laid against the wall. He was looking not-so-happy right now, cocking his head to the side and setting his mouth in a thin line.

I couldn’t move my hands at all even though he had them trapped with only one of his. His other was roaming; down my back, twirling my long hair between his fingers before moving down to my bum. He stared at me as I gasped when he squeezed, an arrogant grin breaking out across his features. “Let me go!” I growled, wiggling quite a bit until he straightened and squished me to him. His eyes blazed and his face got closer to mine. “Please, stop struggling. All I feel is you rubbing against me.” He whispered, and I was confused until he ground his bulge into my leg. I gasped and squealed, shaking until he finally let me go.
I glared at him, taking a few steps back and putting enough space between us so that he couldn’t really reach me-though I figured he could catch me if he tried. His shit eating grin was back, but I was close to tears. Truth be told, I was scared and I felt violated and it wasn’t fun. “You’re a-a-a-” I stumbled, trying to find the right word. He gave a condescending chuckle, running a hand through his erect blonde hair. “A-a-a-what? Princess don’t cuss?” He asked, and I swallowed hard, narrowing my eyes. “You don’t know me.” I spat, finding my rage through my fear. “And you’re a conniving, selfish, arrogant bastard. Don’t come near me again!” I tacked on at the end. He was still smirking, but threw his hands up in the air. “Whatever you say, babe.” He winked, then began walking toward me. I gasped and scrambled, trying to back away but hitting the porch. He only brushed by me though, winking and making his way up to the house.
I wasn’t ready to leave, but I sure as hell needed a minute alone. There were people scattered around the lawn, a fire raging a ways away with people drinking and laughing around it. Some people were passed out, others smoking. I just shook myself, deciding that I needed a drink right now. So I gritted my teeth and made my way up to the house, stomping a little bit. The house was literally thumping with the sound of the bass, and it pissed me off more to know who was commandeering the soundboard. I knew I had to get to the kitchen for a drink, but that proved a challenge in itself. I would have to go through the pulsating crowd, so I bucked up and began to shoulder my way through.
I was finally on the other side, in the crowded kitchen, but at least I had room to move in here. I pulled open the first cabinet I saw, ignoring the looks people were giving me. I grabbed the first bottle I found, which was a half bottle of Hennessey, so I unscrewed the cap and took a swig. It burned all the way down, but then there was a warmth after it. I decided that was what I wanted, and made my way to the gyrating dance floor. I moved with them, swigging and closing my eyes. I just wanted to forget the embarrassment from earlier.
I heard my name being called faintly, and then hands were on my hips. I opened my eyes to find Pete staring back at me, a confused expression on his face. “What are you doing?” He laughed, and I grinned. “Drinking. Wanna dance?” I asked, still moving my hips in circles. He gave me a measured look before grabbing the bottle and taking his own gulp, moving with me.
Minutes later we were grinding harder, my head against his shoulder and his lips ghosting over my neck and shoulders. We were both wasted, I just knew it, but I also didn’t care. I held the bottle loosely in my hand, while Pete had one on my hips, his other trailing my side. “Mmm, this top is sexy.” He said, fingering the buttons on my shirt. “Thanks. Sam picked it out.” I said, taking another drink. The song switched over from fast paced, to lazy and hypnotic. I recognized it as a song by The Weeknd, something about ‘Games’. I passed off the bottle, knowing that I was as wasted as I wanted to be. Pete spun me around so that we were facing each other, our bodies pressed together until there was no space between us. We moved along with the crowd, sweating and flushed with heat. His hands were on the small of my back, pressing my chest to him while we ground our hips together. His forehead was against mine, my hands on his broad, bare shoulders thanks to the tank top. Our eyes were open and peering at one another with straight looks on our faces. In that moment I didn’t really care about what I was doing, and I decided to kiss him. Why not have some fun?
Pete’s lips were soft and full, and he kissed like an expert. He sucked on my bottom lip, still moving with me. The kiss was lazy and slow, a bit sloppy but I wasn’t complaining. Instead I moved my hands into his hair, grabbing it and swiping my tongue across his top lip. He moaned into my open mouth, and I closed my teeth around his bottom lip, tugging on it. “Fuck.” He cursed, kissing me hard until we couldn’t breathe. That’s when I felt a tug on me, and I whipped around to see Sam staring at me. “We should probably go!” She shouted, and I nodded, but she didn’t leave. I turned back to Pete, who’d stopped moving, but looked like he was about to fall over. “I’ll see you later, yeah?” I asked, and he winked, nodding. “Of course. Bye.” He said, Sam dragging me in the other direction before anything more could happen.
“Why are we leaving so soon?” I asked her once we reached the foyer, stumbling. “Because it’s two and you’re wasted. Let’s get your ass home.” She said, throwing my arm over he shoulders and carting me out of the house and down the sidewalk. It took longer than it should have to get home, strictly because Sam was tiny and I was really, really drunk. I was a giggling mess when she tossed me onto my bed, but I didn’t care. She was huffing and puffing as she pulled off my shoes, then went to my dresser. She threw pajamas at me, telling me to get dressed as she did the same. Then she disappeared into the bathroom, returning with Tylenol and a tall glass of water. She had me chug it, taking the pills before falling asleep.
*********
I woke up the next morning with a pounding headache. It wasn’t as bad as I expected it to be, but still, it wasn’t pleasant. I groaned, sitting up and checking my phone on the bedside table. It read that I had a few texts and that it was just after ten. Sam was still passed out, snoring lightly, her pink comforter moving up and down. I pushed myself out of bed, walking to the bathroom and peeing before brushing my teeth and taking two more Tylenol. I was pulling on a pair of athletic shorts and a t-shirt when my phone started to ring. I picked it up, scooping my hair into a bun. “Hello?” I asked, and Cassie’s cheery voice came on the other line. “Hey, Charley! How are you this fine morning?” She asked, and I wanted to tell her to turn down the pep, but I didn’t. “I’m great, how are you?” I asked, trying to sound happy. “I’m actually kind of sick. I was wondering if you could run by student services today and pick up a few textbooks for me for classes? They start tomorrow, and I don’t have time to go and pick them up. A bug must have hit me.” Mmhmm, it was a bug. “Sure thing! I’ll just stop by the house and get your money in like fifteen, yeah?” I asked, and she agreed. I hung up, jotting down a note for Sam before disappearing out of the room with a backpack on my shoulders and a long board under my arm.
Since I didn’t have a car, I figured this was the next best thing instead of walking. I adjusted my glasses on my face, skating along the streets until I approached the house. I flushed when I remembered what happened at the frat house across the way last night, and I looked the other way. I swerved a little bit, back and forth to gain speed as I went down the street. I was well-aware of some of the stares that I was getting, but I just wanted to ignore it. So I did, practically running up the steps to the house.
I gathered the money from Cassie and left, shutting the door behind me and grabbing my board. I set it down, about to skate away, when a familiar voice began calling my name. I turned, fully knowing who it was before I did. Louis was making his way over to me, glasses propped up on his nose and his hair completely disheveled. “Hey, Charley.” He smiled, hugging me. I hugged him back, almost sagging with relief that it wasn’t one of the other two boys. “How are you?” I asked, and he grinned. “I’m….great.” He said, chuckling lightly. I rolled my eyes, but smirked. “You had sex, didn’t you?” I asked, and he hit me, making me laugh. “Shhhh, that’s not lady-like to kiss and tell.” He winked, and I couldn’t help but crack up. “Okay, okay.” I said, and gave me a mischievous look. “And what about you? Do you kiss and tell?” He asked, and I stopped laughing immediately and glared. “That’s okay, you don’t have to. Niall and Pete already did.” He said. “WHAT?” I practically screeched. “Yeah, Niall blabbered about it when he got back to do sound, and Pete told us this morning. I dunno if it makes you feel better, but Pete said it was mistake.” “Oh, yeah, that makes me feel soooo much better.” I said, and he laughed. “You’re going to be okay, it’s not the end of the world.” He said, and I gulped. “But still-” “Don’t worry about it. Just talk to Pete.” He didn’t tell me to talk to Niall, which meant he probably blabbed about how much I hated him too. “Okay, later though. I have to get my books.” I said, and he nodded. Then someone screamed for him, and he rolled his eyes. “I’m COMING!” He screeched, and I almost laughed. He turned back and smiled at me, gathering me in a hug and telling me goodbye before jogging back to the house. I hopped on my board, going down to student services.
I then made my way back to the house after paying for everything, dropping the books off for Cassie. I didn’t know what else I was supposed to do, so I decided to go back to the dorm and review for a little bit until I wanted to go get something to eat. As I was making my way down the road, I heard a horn blaring behind me, startling me. I whipped around to find a familiar black truck pulling up beside me, the music bumping. I glared at the boy in sunglasses and a smirk, wishing he would just go away. “Hey, sweet cheeks. Heard you had a little make-out with Petey.” He grinned, turning down his music. Three familiar boys sat in the car with him, looking half-startled, half in-awe. I was in complete disgust. I was blushing despite my anger towards him, and I hated it. “Fuck off, Niall.” I said, rolling my eyes. “Aw, Babe, don’t be mad! I was just stating a fact.” He said, condescension dripping from his tone as he leaned out of the window. “Stop calling me babe, and stop talking to me. Don’t have your panties in a twist just because I wouldn’t kiss you.” His eyebrows rose over his glasses. “You think I’m jealous.” He asked, but I interrupted him before he could go on. “You think you’re not?” I said coldly, and his face fell. He slammed the car into park and hopped out, coming towards me. I was rooted to the spot, a little shocked. He got right in my face, pushing his glasses into his blonde hair. “I’ll make a deal with you, Charley.” Shivers rolled down my spine as my name rolled off his tongue. His blue eyes were blazing as he went on. “It’s a little game. As many hookups as we like, and the first one to crack under jealousy looses. How does that sound?” He asked, his voice low. I pushed my face further into his, our noses brushing. “I don’t think with my dick, so you’re on.” We stared at each other for a bit before he pulled away, smiling and pulling his glasses down over his face. “Glad to know. Bye, Babe.” He tacked on at the end. Then he grabbed me by my waist, pushing his mouth to mine fiercely.
He pulled away, leaving me shocked and dizzy. He sauntered away, my eyes on his back as he climbed into his truck, clicking it into drive and taking off down the road, blowing a kiss to me on the way by.
What the hell did I just get myself into?
