Hathor burst into the room followed by Shai, Nefti, Nimir, Sanhir and a handful of maidens in white carrying garments of gold and white.. Upon entering the room the Queen looked upon her daughter and backed away suddenly, holding back those that entered the room with her.
The princess was laying on her side across the floor, her face sickly pale with gold running down her lips, her hand reached out and clawed the tiles beneath her nails. The maids screamed in terror as Ametis's hand dug through the concrete as if it was soft dirt and left four long slashes through it. Hathor told them to stay back as she looked at the most able-bodied goddess in the room and called her forth to help her with Ametis. Nefti.
They both rushed forth and pulled the princess up to her feet but even they as goddesses could not compare to the strength she was holding as an individual. It surprised Queen Hathor who no doubt experienced it before when bearing Ihy and Ametis but her power state was nothing compared to her daughter's. She was looking around for suggestions when her eyes fell on the dark angry landscape across the balcony. The desert had lightning storms flickering and electrifying the sand dunes into flames. Heavy wind had picked up and the Nile in the far distance started to swirl and rise fast. The Queen could see her people running away as nature grew restless.
"Get her outside, we have to take her outside!" Hathor ordered the other goddesses and it was when Nimir shrieked that they all realized Ametis was not in the building anymore. They raced to the balcony and saw the princess calmly walking on air as she travelled across the skies and moved towards the desert.
"No!" Nimir screamed and held out her hand, "she will kill herself." Flashes of lightning sliced the black skies as if to prove the goddess's point.
"Hush lady Nimir," Sanhir said quietly as she took in the scene. "You can pray for her safety, however I feel Ametis knows what she is doing."
"I hope your words are true, for even if they are, this is the most powerful birthing of a god ever. Two—two gods. Egypt may not have avoided it's destruction..." Fear was written in Nimir's eyes as he looked at Sanhir and linked her hands together. She closed her eyes and transferred her gaze onto Hathor.
The Queen caught her gaze and frowned intensely in response, "yes?'
"My Queen, I do not wish to be out of place but what if this is the destruction Kha was salvaging from the start? It makes sense if the birth of the twins from the offsprings of two powerful gods would destroy Egypt—destroy the world. This is what Kha wanted."
"You are out of line Nimir!" Angry tears filled Hathor's eyes. She raised her hand and struck her new daughter across the cheek with intense force; Nimir fell to her side. She apologized and touched her cheek, staring up at her soon to be mother-in-law Hathor. Behind the pillar, Nefti watched in silence, thankful that she had not been the one to anger the Queen of the gods.
  "I am sorry my Queen."
"Get up Nimir," Hathor reached out and held Nimir, "get up and do not apologize to me. But never again question the long journey that has happened between the two. Never! We all had done so from the beginning, and it led to disaster!"
"My Queen," gasped Sanhir, "look at the skies above!"
All eyes drew up to the skies and beheld the sight before them. Ametis was suspended lifelessly in mid-air with the storm brewing around her. Her long dark hair had curled up around her in a frightening display, her arms were apart beside her and her head was raised to the heavens whilst her eyes remained shut. Suddenly, the wind picked up speed and four swirling dark spires of cloud came down from the heavens. The goddesses watched as the black mist circled Ametis and formed a large tornado-like creation around her. The 'thing' was clearly infused with dark energy—something the gods did not want to witnesss but could do nothing to stop either.
"By the ancient gods...her children are going to be remarkably powerful," mused Nefti as she shielded her eyes from the lighting surrounding Ametis's disappearing being.
"Oh be quiet Nefti, we have not seen them yet!"
Hathor frowned at the scene and pushed through the goddesses to get in front. She stood in the blasting wind on the balcony and glanced at the horizon. Her queenly eyes spotted a magical occurrence over the Nile. The waters rose and high above, the moon had appeared high in the sky. It was chaos everywhere! There was not a single mortal soul out in the land. A couple of gods had gathered in the palace gardens below and were watching the activity as well.
Ametis's lifeless body was seemingly absorbing the dark mist and lighting around her and growing powerful by the second. Slowly the darkness around her faded and the gods watched as her body rose beneath the moon. The rays washed over her and bathed Egypt in a stange blueish glow. Ametis's eyes opened and in the blink of an eye, her body fell backwards onto the earth—straight into the Nile.
"Aghh!" Nimir screamed in horror before Nefti clamped a hand over her mouth. But the reactions of the gods were the same all throughout the land. They were terrified.
Hathor watched as her daughter disappeared under the depths of the water. She held her arms worryingly and decided she was not going to just stand observing on the palace balcony. The Queen turned on her heels and exited the chamber, she was heading towards the river. Soon, the rest of the gods followed.
Standing on the banks of the Nile, the moon rays were so powerful that it was even starting to affect the gods's perfect eyesight. They washed over Egypt from the ground to the skies and finally everything stopped. The lights faded.
Hathor looked at the gods and saw the same look of confusion. They all looked around and it was like a dream. It was back to a peaceful afternoon. There was no scary mist, no storms, no lighting and thunder...only Egypt in silence.
In the distance, the horn started sounding out. Hathor whipped her head around and saw the royal guards march out of the palace gates and descend down through the city. They marched through and surrounded the body of the Nile, creating one straight path leading back into the city. Hathor watched as all the gods came down, including Horus and Ihy who came by and stood with her.
"Mother look at the water," whispered Ihy. They all gazed over and heard a loud rumbling beneath the earth.
As if struck by an invisible force, the Nile broke in two and formed two walls of water with a path running clearly through the middle, to the other side. The strange thing was that one side of the water was incredibly dark and mysterious while the other wall of water was clear blue and shimmering like a thousand diamonds.
"This reminds me of a story," murmured Shai quietly to the god beside her.
There was another loud horn accompanied by a series of deep drumming to almost replicate the angry rumblings of the earth. Hathor looked over to Horus and they both stepped out of the crowd—Ihy quick to follow.
It was then that they saw Ametis standing in between the two walls of water. She looked radiant as she was bathed in gold light. And finally...beside her stood two remarkably handsome gods.
"What the..." Nefti said as she took in the tall masculine figures that stood beside Ametis; one cloaked in gold and the other in black. "Am I the only one thinking that we were being wrong when imagining them as little adorable infants? They look soooo—"
"Ahem, please do not go there," Ay scolded his sister quietly behind her. However he and the other deities could see exactly what she was talking about. Ametis's sons were carrying Kha's mark, meaning they resembled him from head to toe with their built, posture, blank expressions and looks etc. Oh no, no one could take their eyes off them, especially as the two gods took both hands of their mother and started walking her through the dry path. The walls of water began to lower and close back up into one body behind them. When they stepped up onto where the bank of the Nile was, the river splashed back into formation behind them.
"Hello...family," Ametis said quietly with a small smile as she took in the gathering of gods.

"Where are your sons?" Horus asked as he was barricaded from his daughter's chambers by the Princess herself. Ametis was now dressed in a long blue dress, lined with jewels. She hugged the shawl over her shoulders and peeked behind her before answering Horus directly.
"Inside, I am speaking to them. I will not allow eyes upon them yet," Ametis said and attempted to close the chamber door.
Horus cleared his throat, "the gods will be waiting to see your sons in the throne room. Hurry."
At this, Ametis spun around with her eyes darkened, "I will not allow that. Not tonight. I will send a messenger to announce their names, however no one will see them just yet."
"Ametis—Ametis these boys may be brought into existence just today, however they are not infants. They do not have to be kept from the people for a certain number of days."
"No. I am their mother, do not tell me what to do with my sons!"
"Ametis," warned Horus as he stepped away from the door, "I am your father and the King of Egypt, do not test my patience. I sense something is wrong, what is it?"
He could see the trouble in Ametis's eyes, she only shook her head and slowly closed the door before Horus. It was a while until Ametis heard her father sigh and footsteps retreat down the corridor. She placed her hands against the door in silence and then turned around to see her sons sitting on the lounging chairs. Unlike what she was hearing about them whilst walking back into the palace, she could tell the difference between them.
"That was the King," she said and walked over to them. It made it hard to consider them as her sons when they looked around the same age—figuratively and literally.
"What did he want from you?" One of the boys asked and stood up. He was the one in gold. Ametis gazed at him and smiled, he was the one out of the two that carried most of her with him both in personality and looks.
"He asked when you both would address the court tonight."
  "And when—"
"No," she interrupted with a twirl of her hand to silence him, "not tonight."
There was silence as she watched the other boy rise from his seat but not look at them. This was the god in black, and he obviously carried more of Kha with him than his brother. The image from their 'birthing' flickered brightly in Ametis's black gold eyes. The two walls of water; the dark and clear one. Each brother emerged from their corresponding sides. It was a sort of show on balance, Ametis had noted, one side to represent the good in the world and the other one to represent...the darkness. She raised her head to the god in black.
"Is this because of me? You do not want them to see me?" He asked in a voice far too similar to Kha. Cold and deep. His brother took a look at him and back to their mother.
Ametis smiled and walked towards the boy in black. During her lifetime, she had seen too many of the same mistakes regarding this occurring over and over again. She promised to put a stop to it right there and then. The Princess placed a hand on her son's shoulder and the other to lift his chin upwards so that he faced her.
"My son, know that you are powerful and equal to your brother," she said and looked at his face. He looked just like Kha.
The god reached up and curled a hand around Ametis's hand. "My eyes," was all he said.
Yes, there was a matter to the god's eyes that could not be explained by even Ametis herself. While walking to the palace, she had to shield his face from the view of the gods. Instead of the normal black and gold eyes that both Kha and Ametis, including his brother had, this god had black and silver. And to make matters interesting, her son was...blind. Not exactly blind but blind in a particular sense. He told her first they arrived in her chambers.
"Your eyes are fine brother," stated the other god. "You can still see people...do you know what I look like? Or...the Princess?"
"I can. I can see everything but sometimes it all fades to grey."
"It is a gift, my one." Ametis smiled and caressed his cheek, "I am sure of it. I love you both so much."
"Enough to name us?" Chuckled the god in gold as he came over to stand by his brother. Ametis patted his arm before pulling away and eyeing them in silence. She look in all their being and finally...
"My sons, Prince Ahmes and Prince Atenosis."

If you didn't notice, I was away for a few months so coming back to my baby here and continuing from where I left off was kind of hard. Really hard! This chapter too was really hard because everyone knows gods are born in weird ways. Like Athena splitting Zeus's head open and Aphrodite born from a freaking humongous seashell (clam shell?) So this was a weird and hard chapter. *Sigh* hopefully I did not disappoint.
