Kha jumped off the chariot and carried his female companion down to steady her.
Nawete groaned and reached out to the nearest soldier for balance. Her head spun with aches and her arms felt lifeless. The soldier immediately helped the sorceress by throwing her arm around his shoulders and then helped her maintain her position.
"I am a female—the King's consort, this is no way to treat a lady!" Nawete howled at the terrified soldier. He cringed and immediately lifted her into bridal style.
"Take her to a chamber," Kha commanded as he laid eyes on the misfortunate scene.
"Our chamber," Nawete hissed at the soldier.
"No Nawete, your chamber. You will only distract me," Kha corrected and walked away from the two. Nawete reluctantly agreed and the soldier carted her off to one of the palace's chambers.🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
Kha walked up a flight of stairs and out into the rooftop of the palace. Peaceful winds carried the desert sand in strange beautiful patterns across the landscape.
Kha looked ahead. The dim blurry shadows that lay far away made him frown; deep in thought. Just then came shuffling sounds and footsteps approached him from the back.
"There is lies; the heart of Egypt. My future empire," Kha mumured to the individual without looking.
"You will be a great King," Ihy replied moving up to stand beside Kha.
"And I will have you by my side again, brother." Kha turned sideways and planted an arm on Ihy's shoulder. "Your loyalty to me will be repaid greatly." He said looking into the other god's golden eyes.
Ihy nodded and continued looking out to the distance.
Beside him, Kha sighed, "it really is a pity we would have to go against your sister. I find her some what...charming."
Kha's eyes dimmed as he said the word 'charming'. He glanced over at Ihy, who obviously showed no intense emotion or acknowledgment of what Kha was saying.
"Ametis is not to be underestimated, Kha."
"Oh, I don't underestimate her," Kha replied, a small smirk playing on his lips. "I have seen what she could do. And believe me she is unlike any foe I have ever faced."
"She is Horus's daughter afterall," Ihy frowned.
Kha raised his head into the distance, with a slight tilt towards Ihy's ears. "And you are his son. If I told you to kill your sister...would you?"
The air turned chilly as the sun finally sunk halfway through the earth, giving the desert a beautiful glow of red and orange.
Ihy frowned for a moment, "of course."
Kha turned around and was about to disappear off the rooftop when Ihy caught his arm in a firm hold. He stopped and stepped backwards to face Ihy.
"Out of curiosity," Ihy whispered with a blank expression. "Why would you have me kill my dear sister, rather than you end her yourself?"
Kha remained stationary without a show of emotion. He blinked continuously for a few moments before nodding as if he finally understood the question directed at him.
"I could kill her myself. But we still show respect to the family of Ra; her death would be more honorable if you, as her brother end her. You are under Osiris's side of the family like her, I on the other hand am from Set's side of the family."
"Why the honorable death? I thought it would be so if you killed her to honour
Set--your father. Not for me to kill her!"
"Let's just say that would be my only act of mercy towards her," he murmured quietly. "Come, we have so much to do."
Both gods turned away from the desert view and started to make their way off the palace rooftop but suddenly out of nowhere great shadows climbed over them.
This forced the gods to look around once more. The sight in the skies they laid eyes on was confusing.
"What in the world is that?" Kha asked Ihy in a terribly bored tone.
"Is it an vulture—some kind of gigantic bird?" Ihy replied moving to the edge of the rooftop to take a better look at the big shadow in the sky.
"It's not a bird!" Shouted Kha from behind Ihy, pulling his sword out of it's sword belt and moving forward. "Those are winged deities!"
Sure enough, as the shadows drew nearer in the skies; they showed perfect details and Kha was right. The shadows parted to show three figures plummeting towards the palace; three goddesses—two winged and a non-winged.
Immediately Kha morphed into his bigger and better godly form. His blade dropped to the ground as wings shot out of his back and talons replaced his hands. His entire body turned into a solid gold form including his respective features.
With his view, he turned to Ihy and growled deeply, "take down Nephthys but do not harm her."
"What of my sister and Shai?" Ihy replied.
"I will take care of that."
"No wait—Shai is fate. You mustn't kill her or her role will be wiped and everything with it will be gone!"
"You handle her then," Kha nodded before spearing up into the air to meet the goddesses. Back on the ground Ihy followed suit and morphed into his godly form before launching up into the air after Kha.
