Confusion

Hera woke up with a jolt, breathing hard.

She sat up and for some reason her neck hurt like force.

Where am I? She thought to herself looking around and gasp at what she saw.

She was apparently the first one up from a line of beds of seemingly unconscious people.

There was at least a hundred beds in this big bunker, all had at least one person in each bed. It looked as if whoever put them there ran out of space near the end where a few beds shared two humanoids.

She didn't recognize everyone there but everyone looked seemingly familiar to Hera then she realized.

This is about a fifth of the troops from the base on Eadu. She thought her eyes looking around at each bed. I hope they are ok. But what happened. Hera couldn't remember anything up to the explosion.

The memory replayed in her head. The troops storming the hoth base, the snow speeders attacking the walkers, the countless deadly bombs fired from the imperials then as if in slow motion a bomb came about a hundred yards from the ship she was supposed to get on, she was on the ramp and the force of the explosion threw her inside bashing her skull on the metal wall.

What even day is it?

She tried to get off the bed but she now just noticed that her hands and feet were cuffed to the bed.

She examined the person to her right. It was Cece the yellow haired, girl from the cheese squadron. I still can't get over that name. She thought sighing. And in her left was Mouse the ex-storm trooper. His brown hair was all askew and he had a few bruises on his legs. She looked to the bed next to him and found that Roe was lying next to him, she was missing her goggles and her long black hair was in a pony tail behind her head. She tried to look around for anyone else but Cane and Vent must of been somewhere else.

"It's too quiet." Hera said talking to herself and her voice giving off a slight echo in the large room. There are a hundred plus people here and it's deathly silent.

She panicked and looked to at Cece but to her utter relief her chest was rising and falling peacefully.

I wonder why I'm the first one up. She thought. Probably because I've been in a coma for who knows how long I need to get to the bottom of this.

In a similar bunker on the same planet another person awoke.

"I don't need to see this again!!" Vent basically screamed as he woke up, cringing. "I need to stop walking in on Mouse and Roe it's getting into my dreams."

He shuddered and finally realized he wasn't in his bed back on the Loth Rat 5. (It was their first ship they got as an official squadron they just thought the 5 made it sound professional.)

He looked around and saw people on medic beds all around him.

"I'm dead, I died, they all died we failed." He thought out loud.

"Oh will you be quite Vent." Cane said from the bed next to him. "I'm trying to sleep."

"And I'm trying to be pessimistic please let me be." Vent said and pinched his arm. "Oww ok I'm not dead or dreaming. Hey Cane do you know where we are?"

"The force I don't know where we are." Cane grumbled. "Just let papa sleep."

"Why does my neck hurt?"

"I don't know why don't you ask your mum." Cane said with a sigh, clearly whatever they were given to knock them unconscious hadn't wore off Cane completely yet.

Vent rolled his eyes at Cane and looked around at the other people in the room.

"Hey I think I can make out Eights' red hair from here." He told Cane happily.

"Kriff yourself."

Vent tried to ignore him and thought he could make out Sabine next to him. He was about to say something and then remembered that Cane probably would reply with something worse this time.

His stomach growled. How long have I been out, I'm starving, I hope someone comes with waffles. Oh waffles so golden so delicious so crispy I want a waffle so bad now.
