“Are you sure you’re going to be okay?” Arthur asks, walking outside with her.

The shorts didn’t help as they stepped outside. Annabelle grabbed her hoodie and had that one, but other than that, her legs were showing.

She instantly started to shiver from the cold as they got outside. She gives a nervous smile and nods, “I-I can manage,” She says softly.

They make it out to the track where everyone else was. “Alright! Go until I say stop!” The coach yells then blows a whistle, signaling everyone to start running. Annabelle takes off as fast as she can, already starting to beat everyone except a two certain Italians.

She huffs, running faster to keep from losing the ability to breath.

Not long after, she soon starts to slow down, feeling faint. She comes to a stop and rests her arms on her knees, bending over. She tries her best to breath, huffing in and out quickly, squeezing her eyes shut.

“Heart! Keep moving!” The coach shouts from the other side of the track. Arthur had caught up and started to stop. Before he could get to her, she slowly starts to take off again, making Arthur look worried. He speeds up and catches up to her, “H-hey! You shouldn’t keep running!”

Her bangs hide over her eyes, shadowing her features as she shakes her head. She keeps running as fast as she could in her condition. She lands on her left foot and lets out a slight grunt and slightly trips, but keeps running around the large track. Her leg started to look tinted purple. But she kept running.

Arthur looks more worried as she slows down again. She slowly stops and breaths heavy, starting to wheeze from lack of air. She looked pale, the chilly air clearly getting to her veins. Arthur stops with her and pats her back as she leans on her knees again.

“You can’t run anymore, you need to go inside,” Arthur says quietly, concern filling his voice. She shakes her head, staring to the ground. She starts to cough viciously, falling slightly limp, still leaning on her knees.

Soon, blood starts to spew onto the ground, coming from her. Arthurs eyes widen as she quickly puts her hand to her mouth, coughing up larger amounts of blood.

“A-Anna!” Arthur shouts as she falls to her knees, continuously coughs up large amounts of blood. Arthur looks up to the other students surrounding them. Alfred rushes over and kneels down, looking to her with worry.

She glances to him, tears in her eyes as she continues to cough into her hand. “Coach!” Someone shouts. Before the person shouted, he was already almost over there.

He arrives to the circle and pushes his way through, “What’s going on?!”

“She’s coughing up blood you git!” Arthur almost yells at him. Annabelle collapses and falls unconscious. Arthur quickly scoops her into his arms, running off as quickly as he can. Alfred and Mattie follow him, looking worried.

Arthur runs inside as fast as he can, running to the nurse.

“How is he, nurse?” Alfred asks quietly, leaning on the wall next to the door, watching the nurse lie a wet clothe on Annabelle’s head.

“Just a reaction, he was having a hard time breathing, but once you got him inside, he started to get better. He started to cough up so much blood because the cold got to his internal organs.” The nurse explains, turning to Alfred.

She had short, dirty blonde hair and dark green eyes. She looks really nice and just a good friend. She gives him a friendly smile, “He’ll be alright, we just can’t let her run outside again like that,” She ends with a frown, “What confuses me is why the coach didn’t let him stay inside.”
