Hunt I: School

I've never really been the type for an easy lifestyle. I also was never the type of girl for that girly stuff either like; cooking, cleaning and especially wearing dresses. I hate dresses, I'll wear a skirt any day, though a nice combat skirt with nice compression shorts. Well, it looks like I've arrived at the place where I'm going to spend the next four years of my life; Anima et Corde, the School of Demon Hunting.

I walked into the school's main gates and into the large campus, there weren't many students which surprised me.

"The majority of the Senior and Junior classes are on field missions. The Freshmen and Sophmore classes don't get to do field missions until the start of our second semester."

"Uh...Thanks for the info, who are you?"

She laughed a cute little laugh, then she told me her name.

"I'm Yucca, a Freshmen and you are?"

"I'm Rose, also a Freshmen."

"Nice to meet you, Rose. So do you know where you're going right?"

"Not really, I hear from the guy at the main gate that I'm supposed to be going to the opening ceremony."

"Do you know where that's at?"

"Uh, do you know where that's at, is the real question Yucca."

"Yes, that's where I was heading as well. You can tag along if you want."

"Ok, lead the way if you'd be so kind."

Yucca grabs my hand and begins to lead me to the school's auditorium where hundreds of freshmen were all gathered together. I continue to let Yucca lead me to some open seats, and we wait for the ceremony to start. After all of the students have entered and sat down, the headmaster walked in and stood at the podium and began to speak to us, about the school and whatnot.

"Welcome all of you to Anima et Corde. You will be spending the next four years of your life here, learning about the art of Demon Hunting."

I look over to Yucca with a very bored expression.

"You seem to be enjoying yourself."

"well everyone in my family, except my sister, are all involved in either politics or selling a producing Demon Hunters gear. I had no interest in any of that stuff, it's all rather boring."

"Wait, weapons and politics? Now the politics do sound really boring, but how does making and selling Demon Hunter gear sound boring?"

"I'm not really interested in the whole selling and making gear, it takes a lot of heavy lifting and I'm not very strong."

She then told me that we could talk after the ceremony because the headmaster was almost done talking about; the school's history and was getting ready to talk about the interesting stuff.

"Now I know you've all have been sitting here for a very long time, and I'll end the ceremony with this. You will all be paired up with a partner who will be at your side throughout your career as a Demon Hunter until you decide you should go your own separate ways. Also, all freshmen see the teachers, to see where the freshmen dorms are at, and you are now dismissed."

Well, that was rather boring, I guess I should go find where my dorm is at. Then suddenly I felt a slight tug on my skirt and turned to see who it was.

"Oh, Yucca that was you tugging on my skirt."

She nodded her head then stood up to meet me at eye level, then she said.

"I want you, to be my partner."

I stood there in shock for a moment, she wants me to be her partner?

"Uh... Ok, I guess that's ok, you do know that means were partners for our entire school life right?" I say to her.

"were partners until we decide to go our separate ways."

Yucca then grabs my hand, again, and we walk to one of the teachers to find out where the dorms were.

"So Rose, did you pack everything you needed for school in your bag you've been carrying with you?"

"I have the basic things I need to get by, I couldn't take most of my clothes with me, which sucked."

Yucca started to run to our dorm, I almost tripped a couple of time since my hand was still in her grasp. we arrived at our dorm, I'm almost out of breath from Yucca's sudden urge to run to our dorm. we enter our room, and I throw my bag onto "my bed" before I can take my boots off, Yucca grabs my hand again.

"What Yucca, did you forget something?"

she laughs a little before she continues to say what she was going to tell me.

"No, I'm taking you shopping."

"wait, What?"
