"Hey man! Long time, no see!" Jack shouts to me as I step out of my car.

"I saw you yesterday!" I chuckle, walking over to him standing by the front door. His house was pretty average but then again he still lives with his mum. But she makes the best brownies EVER! No exaggeration.

"Oh yeah, come on in then. And welcome to your new home!" He welcomes me into his home like I'm royal. Not that I'm complaining.

"Ethan my darling, how are you?" Jack's mum, Jill, appeared from the kitchen and pulled me into a tight hug. Too tight.

I manage to pull away without offending her.

"I'm fine Mrs Tenner, thank you very much. Smells great by the way!" I say inhaling all the different delicious smells of her gorgeous roast.

...

Jack took me to his room, or should I say our room, to put my stuff away. I flopped down onto my new bed before we were both called down for dinner.

As I sat down at the table I spotted some people I hadn't seen before. I was immediately introduced to Jack's aunty, Clara and her husband John.

"It's a pleasure to meet you both!" I accept both handshakes.

"My cousin is here too by the way!" Jack says shovelling a massive heap of potatoes into his mouth. What a pig.

"In the kitchen, I think," he speaks with his mouth full. Gross.

As I walk to the kitchen I can here Jill scolding Jack for speaking with his mouth full and the gentle laughter of his aunt and uncle.

I didn't look up as I walked into the kitchen resulting in me knocking into someone. A glass bowl full of brussel sprouts fell to the ground. Glass shattering everywhere.

"Oh no!" the person mumbled, it was too high pitched to be a boy so it must be a girl. The girl was already on her knees picking up the broken glass. I crouched down to help her.

"Thank you!" She looked up at me, inches away from my face.

She had the bluest of blue eyes and the most gorgeous blonde curls cascading down her shoulders.

"No problem. If you don't mind me asking, who are you?" She laughed, oh what a beautiful laugh.

I think I really like this girl and I barely know her! What is wrong with me?

"I'm Katie Harrison, Jack's cousin!" She said extending her hand. I shake it replying,

"I'm Ethan Cartwick, Jack's bestfriend!" Jack never told me his cousin was beautiful.

Well duh, he wouldn't. That's his cousin!

Over dinner I just couldn't stop staring at her. I couldn't get over the fact that she is so beau-

Yeah, yeah we know beautiful. Get on with it.

Jack prodded me with his fork.

"Ow!" I yelped in pain.

"If you don't stop drooling you're going to turn my house into a swimming pool!"

"Shut up, I'm not drooling!" I say embarrassed, hoping Katie didn't hear.

"Yeah, yeah!" Jack snorted.

A couple of hours passed as we ate and talked. Finally Clara stood up dabbing her mouth with her napkin.

"I am terribly sorry but we have to be going!"

"Don't worry my dear, it was lovely seeing you all! You are welcome any time," Jill smiled sweetly.

"Thank you for having us Aunt Jill, and it was a pleasure to meet you Ethan!" Katie added. She was just perfect, I was defiantly in love. Perfect inside and out. I really didn't want her to leave. I stood up and followed them to the front door.

Oh that's not stalking, at all. Note my sarcasm.

I'm getting slightly irritated by the voice in my head. I grabbed her wrist just before she walked out of the door. She turned her head and our gaze met.

'She' has an name!

Ignoring the voice in my head, I asked here,

"Will I see you again?" I sounded a little desperate but I needed to know.

A 'little' desperate! Haha good one!

"Maybe," She smiles before slipping her wrist out of my grip and running to her parent's car. Her white, short dress wrapping wrapping around her thighs.

...

"Thank you for helping me tidy up Ethan, you don't have to!" Jill picked up a brussel sprout that had escaped from someone's plate.

"I don't mind," I say picking up the last of the plates.

"You already seem to be getting on well with my niece, Katie," She states but I can't help but notice the questioning tone behind it.

"Yes, she is very nice,"

Real nice

Jill smiled then frowned.

"You can go now dear! I will be alright now," I put the dishes in the dishwasher then go up to my room, to find Jack sitting on my bed.

"Alright?" I ask before flopping down next to him,

"Yeah, I'm fine, my cousin just text me!" the tone of his voice sounded concerned.

"Is everything okay? What did she say?" I bombarded him with questions laced in my worry.

"She wants us to come to one of her college parties. Both of us!"

"We have to go!" I couldn't hide my excitement as I jumped off the bed.

"No! They always turn out bad. Something bad always happens!" He was standing face to face to me. He is a few inches taller than me.

"Come on! When was the last time we went to a party, both of us?" I say trying to persuade him.

There was a long silence confirming that it has been a long time.

"B-b-but..." I cut him off by giving him a nudge on the shoulder.

"For god sake! Urgh.... maybe!"
