Chapter 24

I didn't know what to say, I didn't know what to do.

Katie just stared at the grass below and then I saw the slow tears.

I lifted my hand to her cheek and wiped the tears with my thumb making her eyes flutter closed.

Right now she looked so young, so vulnerable and weak.

Finally her eyes opened and instantly met mine. And this fire in me started and I knew I had to. This was the time.

I leant in so our lips were inches apart, her pulse was rising I could see it in the way her chest was rising and falling quicker than usual. Did she want this as much as I do?

Boldly I made the big move and kissed her, with a passion deeper than the ocean.

Our lips moved in sync but I didn't push her any further. She pulled away but she didn't look upset she looked... Relieved?

"I..." She stared blankly at the grass and I mustered up the courage to pull her sleeves up. We both gasped, she did because of my sudden actions that exposed her vulnerability and me best the scars seemed never ending.

"Why?" I croaked as I let my own tears fall.

"I was angry at myself and it was in the moment, a stupid cliche I know. I got help and went to an institute for a well but I got better... Reasonably quickly," She was desperate to defend herself.

I didn't know what to do I just sat there and it seemed my whole life had now changed to a different perspective. All this time I was being oblivious to the fact that this beautiful girl was broken and held an ugly past.

I stop up abruptly growing angrier at the second.

"Where is he?" I hissed.

"Who?"

"Ethan!" I spat, that fucking arsewhole was going to get what's coming to him. to think that I was his friend! Friend?! What a bloody joke that is!

He was going to pay! Justice will be made.

The fact he walked around like it was okay scared into making her believe she had no one to turn to and to try and act friendly around that... that... Cunt!

He was going to pay!
