Chapter 5 Secrets

Harry's POV

I sit across from Katie in class, watching her lean into Jake and giggle at his stupidity. What she sees in him I will never know. That guy, Ethan, seems like a nice kid, it was funny how quickly he got drunk, I think he only had two to three drinks. Great guy though.

I didn't realise I had been staring at Katie until she asked me if I was alright. I nodded, embarrassed to be caught. There is more to her than good looks, she is one of the most kindest and lovely people I know. Mysterious but kind. She has her fair share of secrets but don't we all? She just seems to have more.

Katie looks up at Jake, admiration and lust clear in her eyes but when he looks at her, even with a smile on his lips, his eyes are cold and un-loving. Poor girl. She deserves better than him, I'm not just saying that for my own selfish thoughts but for her own well-being.

Jake doesn't share the same love as she does for him. He has never taken her on romantic dates or dates fullstop. He always forgets her birthday, she just brushes it off and pretends it doesn't hurt eventhough you can see the pain in her perfect blue eyes. I have even see him shrug her away when she leans into his arm or holds his hand. I'm pretty sure that isn't love.

Jake's hiding something, I just know it but the question is what? Why is he holding onto Katie when it's obvious he doesn't love her, the questions swirl around my head and before I know it the bell rings signaling the end of the day. Finally.

I shove my stuff into my rucksack. Stuffing my hands into my pockets I walk out of the classroom.

"Yo! Harry! Wait up!" It's Jake, with Louis following swiftly behind.

"What?" I ask.

"No need for the attitude!" Louis chuckles.

"Sorry, what's up?" I sigh.

"We are all going to the park, want to come?" Jake nudges my arm.

"The park? Seriously?  We're twenty years old and you want to go to the park?" I bite back the laughter.

"Not to play on the swings dick! To get high!"

"Oh how could I possibly want to miss the opportunity to get stoned!" The sarcasm clear in my tone.

"Stop being a bitch, you owe me anyway, I'm keeping your little secret, remember!" Louis smirks.

"Fine, I'll meet you there!" I give in, sneaking a quick look, hoping Jake doesn't want in on 'my little secret'.

"See ya!" They run down the corridor, presumably to tell the others.

My life officially sucks.
