"What the hell is going on in here?"

This couldn't possibly get any worse.

Jake's face softened at the sight of Katie standing in the doorway. Her hair was hanging loosely over her shoulders and her features were tired but tremendously beautiful.

"Go back to bed!" Jake instructed.

"Ethan was just leaving," He turned to me making it clear my presence wasn't needed.

"What happened to Josh?" She queried her eyes glistening with concern as he looked down at his groaning body.

"He's fine, go to bed," Jake's patience was wearing thin, I could tell by the way his was clenching his jaw and fists.

"Why were you fighting?" Her voice was soft and gentle and was not ready for the explosive volume and strength of Jake's.

"GO TO BED!" Jake barked causing both Katie and I to flinch. She scurried back into the room, presumably the bedroom and closed the door silently behind her.

"Get the fuck out of here, Cartwick. Or else!" His threat didn't seem to scare me as I was too angry at the situation and my adrenaline was still pulsing through my veins at an astronomical rate. But I left reluctantly.

I sat on the hood of my car just re-thinking about the course of events and the one thing that pissed me off the most was Jack.

I swallowed my anger and let my weakness take over as I let my tears fall pitifully down my cheeks.

My phone vibrated in my pocket and I retrieved it to see my mum was calling. I hit ignore. I realised after how much a dick I am then dialled her number.

"Ethan, are you okay, where are you?!" Her voice was frantic and I couldn't help but let the tears continue to fall.

I wiped my eyes with my sleeve before answering.

"Yeah, I'm alright, I'm just coming home. I need to sleep,"

...

College. Another day full of one of two sides and segregation. I hated it. My dreams were filled with the same horrors of a prison cell and I tossed and turned all night.

"Do you have any Aspirin?" I asked my mum as she poured me a bowl of Cheerios.

"Second cupboard on the right, in the bathroom,"

I hastily swallowed the pills and ate up my cereal before grabbing my faithful, old rucksack. I made my way steadily to college as it was such a beautiful day. The sun was cracking through the thick grey robes of cloud and the birds were singing joyful melodies.

I made my way to the gates before I was instructed to go to the front desk. Even though this wasn't school and I couldn't be told off but the head teacher I had an odd feeling in the pit of my stomach.

I gave my name to the front desk and was told to go straight through the great oak doors. I pushed them open to reveal two policeman and a stern lady.

"Ethan Cartwick please may you come with us!" I wasn't likely to reject the policemens request so I accepted and followed them wearily towards their car.

While in the vehicle I was informed I was to be taken to the police station about an incident that was reported.

My mind was racing with ideas of what might happen, why I was being escorted to a police station and what the hell was the problem.

My possessions such as my phone, my rucksack and my car keys were all removed from my care and placed into a room.

I was then escorted down a long corridor. Bile started to rise in my throat and I thought I was going to gag at the strong stench of urine and faeces as we passed cells containing mild convicts.

I couldn't help to panic and think I'm here to be thrown into a cell.

The policemen intentions with me were clear as they unlocked the final and only empty cell and told me to enter it.

Fear began to take over all my senses and my spine was tingling with worry. I sat down on the dirty bench and let my head fall into my hands. This was all too real, this was all too familiar.

Oh god.

It was just like my dreams.

Thanks for taking the time to read, vote and comment and I hope you continue to. I hope the plot is realistic and makes sense as well as being good :)
