Chapter 6

8 years later...

"Engr. Yoon?" Bomi took a quick glance at the door when she heard her secretary called her. She looked back on the paper that she's holding and read it.

"Yes, come in." Her secretary then went inside with Sumi that is smiling. She's too focused on the paper that she didn't notice her sister.

"You're so busy sis." And the moment she heard Sumi's voice, she glanced at her and smiled.

"Thanks Jane." Her secretary just nodded and exited her office. She stood up from her swivel chair and made her way to her sister to hug her. "It's nice to see you again. How many months have you disappeared? Haha." They both laugh and sit on the sofa.

"It's just six months, sis. I also took the time to have a vacation there in the Philippines 'cause I really miss the heat of the sun. I wish we could go there together next time." She just flashed a smile. It's been eight years since they live in New York and sometimes she thought of going back to the Philippines even just to have a vacation but she's too busy with her work. She's currently handling a construction project.

"Let's pray that I can have a break from my work. And oh, you changed your hairstyle and color. It suits you." She commented.

"I know right. Now people won't be confused on who's Bomi and Sumi. between us. People will know the difference." She nodded in agreement. Sometimes people around them call them in their wrong names. They are identical twins, remember?

"That's so smart of you, sis. Now let's go. I'm excited to see baby Nick." She immediately stood up from her seat and went back to her table to get her things. Sumi just shook her head while chuckling.

"You're so funny, sis. You get to see baby Nick everyday, why are you so excited to meet him? Psh." She just stuck her tongue out at Sumi.

They immediately exited the office and told Jane that they're going out. And before they can step out of the building, they saw a built of a little guy that is running towards them while his nanny is following him. Bomi kneeled down to get even with his height and opened her arms to welcome him.

"Hi baby boy." Baby Nick hugged her with his little arms and kissed her cheek.

"Mama." She carried him in her arms and they exited the building together. They made their way to her car that is on the VIP Parking Area in front of the building.

"Daebak! So the two of you are close now. And my son is ignoring me. Tsss." They laugh at Sumi's reaction. Before they entered the car, Bomi gave baby Nick to his mother.

"Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!" He happily chanted.

"Did you miss mommy, baby?" Nick just nodded.

"Mommy, can we go to McDonalds? I wanna eat there. Please." Bomi and Sumi look at each other and laugh.

"Sure thing baby. Now, let's get inside mama Bomi's car."

"Huh? Waeyo?" Bomi just shrugged. She just finished talking with Jane over the phone and her secretary told her that her dad wants to talk to her.

"I don't have any choice but to go back to the building. Is it okay if I'll leave first? I'll just tell Minhwan to pick you up." Sumi just nodded at her. Minhwan is Sumi's husband and he's also a Civil Engineer like Bomi and they got to work with each other. "Baby Nick, mama will go first, okay? Mama has things to do. I'll make it up to you next time." Baby Nick nodded with a pout. She kissed him on the cheeks before going out.

The moment she arrived on the building, she went to Minhwan's office and told him where Sumi and Nick are. He just showed a thumb up and she excused herself.

"Where's dad?" She immediately asked Jane the moment she arrived on the floor where her office is.

"Engr. Yoon is in your office, Engr." She uttered a thanks before she entered her office. She saw her dad sitting on the sofa so she faked a cough to get his attention. She then sit beside him.

"What do you want to talk about, dad? Is it so important for you to be here and for me to go back here in my office?" Her dad just laughed at her outburst.

"How about a 'Welcome back, Dad' instead of throwing me questions? You are such an impatient person, Bbom-ah." She laughed and kissed him on the cheek as she hugged him.

"I'm just worried about you, dad. You just got discharged from the hospital and you immediately came here. The doctor told you to rest. Tsk! You are such a hard-headed person, dad." Her dad was sent to the hospital because of a heart attack and stayed there for a week. "Let's just start so that I can send you home and you can rest."

"Okay. I have a project in Manila so I must fly there as soon as possible." She confusedly look at her dad. They know that he needs to rest and avoid anything that can stress him up and now he has work in Manila? Is he kidding?

"Aish. Dad, you know about your situation. Why did you accept the project?" Her dad is too hard-headed.

"And because of what happened to me, I want you to replace me as the Head Engineer of the project. It's okay for you, right?" Her eyes widen. Does this mean she'll go back to Manila? "You'll do this for daddy, right? Please."

'Do I have a choice? Dad's health is in risk if I won't replace him. Aish.'

"Fine. Fine. As if I have a choice, dad. Just be thankful that I love you." Her dad happily hugged her. And then thoughts came into her mind that will possibly happen to her in Manila and Baekhyun suddenly popped in her mind. She suddenly felt nervous and now she wants to get back what she said. "Uhm dad, how many months will I have to stay there?"

"As soon as the project is finished, you can go back here." Unconsciously, she bites her lower lip. She knew that the project won't end sooner. *sigh* "And this will be your opportunity to experience and feel the heat of the Philippines. I know that you miss the Philippines that you love. Haha." She glared at her dad and playfully hit his arm. "And don't you miss someone that you love?" She froze. Her dad knew that she likes Baekhyun since she told him about it. She's actually a daddy's girl.

"Stop it, dad. It's not funny."

"Huh? Did I say anything?" And her dad smiled playfully.

"Whatever dad. Let's go home."

(So, how's the talk with dad?) Bomi heaved a sigh when she remembered what they were talking about. She can't avoid to think about Baekhyun and it seems that she regretted taking the offer.

"He wants me to be the Head Engineer of his upcoming project there in Manila. You know, he needs to rest and to stop working for the meantime to regain his strength. But sis, what if I'll meet Baekhyun? I really don't want to bump on him." Sumi didn't know that something happened between Bomi and Baekhyun but she knew their situation that's why she got worried.

(There's a big possibility that you'll meet each other but don't think about him. You must think about dad. That you'll go to Manila for dad.) And her sister is right. She'll be there not for Baek. But what is she going to do if they'll meet?

'Aish! I'll just cross the bridge when I get there.'

(Mommy, I want to sleep. Read me some story just like what mama did for me.) She heard her nephew's voice on the background and a smile made its way on her face.

"Tell Nick that I said hi to him. And yeah, do some reading for him. That's what I did when you left for Manila. Just so you know, it's very difficult to put your son on the bed to sleep." Sumi just laughed on her. She was the one who look after him for the past six months.

"(Okay. We're going to sleep. You sleep too, sis. Don't let Baekhyun enter your mind haha) And she just deadpanned. Sumi just remind her of him. Tch!

"Whatever. Good night sis." And they ended the call together.

She lie on her bed, staring at the ceiling, and thought of Baekhyun. 'How are you? I really want to see you but I'm terrified to face you. Aish! I better go to sleep.' And she immediately doze off to sleep.
