twenty seven

the morning sun

shone down at the earth,

lighting up the corners of the ground

and the spaces in the trees.

there wasn't but one car on the road,

riding by slowly,

like a lullaby;

like a dream,

pressed against the purples

and cherry pinks

of the sky.

golden dots

were littered across the sky,

bits of sunlight

peeking out from the masterpiece

above.

his eyes were glazed over,

maybe he was tired,

maybe all he wanted to do was to go back home,

but he kept his hand

on the wheel

and went on.
