we all hate the word 'said'
let's be honest, no, we don't. we say it all the time.
for example, if we're gossiping about mary sue jessica jane smith II, we say said about a couple times.
in our stories, we also use it a lot. we have to be careful! cause if our conversation went like this:
"hai!1!" said mary sue jessica jane smith II popping the p, her pink bubblegum shining off her white teeth.
"hello mary sue jessica jane smith!" said rose.
"its mary sue to my friends! its jane smith to you nobodies!" said mary sue.
Nobody said anything for a whole minute. then mary sue said, "wanna go get a pizza?"
rose smiled and said "sure!"
bad example of a bad example, but you get the point.
