❝People love you sis. I love you. ❞

Scarlett's POV

Right now I was in front of the TV, with a cup of tea in my right hand. I was watching The Big Bang Theory, hoping that it would lighten the mood, but it just reminded me of what I lost.

The man I lost.

I sighed and immediately the bell rang, myself gulping down the last of decaf tea. Walking to the door, I opened it, revealing my little girls and Lucy.

"Mommy!" Ella and Christina both cried out, running towards me and welcoming me in their arms.

"How was school?" I ask them and pecked their foreheads.

"It was good Mommy. Miss Grace let us draw all day." Ella told me and I smiled.

"Yeah Mommy, we drew this." Christina pulled out a drawing. And what was worse? It was a picture of me, the girls and Benedict. Tears slowly formed in my eyes and I quickly folded it and place it on the table.

"Girls why don't you turn on the TV, we'll be right in." Lucy told Ella and Christina and they ran into the living room. I folded my arms. "You look like hell..." Lucy told me, simpering.

"Yeah well... Ben came over today and we packed his stuff up and he left."

"So, not a good day?" I shook my head.

"No, not really... anyway, why are you so late?" Lucy bit her lip and I frowned. "Luce?"

"I... brought someone with me..." She stepped out of the way and I gasped.

"Hey Scar..."

"Oh my God... Paul..." I laughed and he walked over to me, wrapping his arms around me.

He cupped my face in his hands and I looked down for a moment.

"Someone has told me that someone has hurt my little sister..." I smirk. "I'll have to kick their ass." Grabbing Paul's hand, I lick my lips.

"Come on big bro, help me make dinner!" I yanked him into the kitchen. "Okay, herbs are in the-"

"Second to the left cupboard! I know, I've cooked with you many times, you remember that right? With you and Ben... edict..." I pressed my hands onto the edge of the sink and bowed my head. "Oh God, I'm sorry..."

"It's fine..." I then turn around an fold my arms. "It's sunk in... Well nearly." Chuckling, I feel Paul's hand on my shoulder.

"It must not be easy..." Paul said and I shake my head. "I can't believe that this has happened. And I was the one who gave him my blueberry pie!" Smiling, I sigh. "What happened?" Swallowing, I walked over to the fridge and pulled open the bottom draw. I was looking for some vegetables as I filled my brother in.

"Well... you know the night that I called you. Couple of months ago?" He nodded. "Well, if you still remember, the next day was our anniversary. And, well, we..." I clench my teeth. "... slept together and then, went to dinner. Everything was fine, until..." Paul lifted an eyebrow.

"... U-until?"

"Until my most 'amazing' husband decides to go and... well... you've probably worked it out." Paul now raised both of his eyebrows.

"Really?"

"Yes..." I whispered, tears forming in my mouth.

"God, well..." He looks straight at me, tears falling down my cheek and I whimpered.

"I... I just... kept telling myself... maybe it was wrong, what I saw him with her... I really thought he was the one..."

"Scarlett..."

"All I've ever wanted was to be loved by someone..." I break down in front of my brother and he slowly wrapped his arms around me. Suddenly, I felt warmth.

"I love you sis... And I will always love you..." He said me softly into my ear. "Just... don't worry... bet everything will be ok-"

"I'm pregnant." I say and he pauses, pulling my away from his shoulder and in front of his face.

"Sorry?" He asks, confused. "Did you just say... like, you have a bun in the oven?" I open my mouth to speak but, I'm interrupted by the girls.

"Are we having buns Mom?" Paul snorted and I glared at him.

"No, um... It's an expression... you know, when we have dinner we say, 'we're going to have a bun in the oven.'" He laughed nervously and cleared his throat. "Dinner will be about 20 minutes, go wait inside girls." Ella and Christina skipped back inside.

"You saved that quite well." I remark.

"Oh, I know." Paul simpered.

And we began cooking, sharing stories like we used to do. I guess I'd be doing that more now.
