❝I can't stop thinking about yo-❞
Scarlett's POV
Time had flown at the fun fair, and so we were on our way back home.
All through the car, me and Benedict were quiet. We didn't speak a word- but I noticed many times that he had smiled at me.
I didn't know whether he was softening the blow for later or that it actually meant something.
The thing was, I was rather nervous to find out.
Once we got into the house, all of us sat downstairs and watched TV for a bit.
But, it was getting late and so I had asked the girls to go upstairs.
"Come on girls, go and brush your teeth and go to bed." I say as I rub my baby bump.
Benedict reached his arm over me and I breathed in heavily. I wanted to move, but didn't.
"Mommy, we don't want to!" Christina moaned and I frowned.
"Bed. Now!" I yell and they dropped their heads.
"El, Chrissy, come on." Benedict gets up and reaches out both of his hands. "It's late, I'll tuck you in..." Benedict grabs the girls the they go upstairs.
After they had went upstairs, I followed soon after.
I slowly changes into my nightwear, a long dress.
However, once I lay down in my bed, I was unable to close my eyes.
Every second, the baby kicked, so I couldn't sleep at all.
So I stood up and made my way towards the stairs to go back down.
Although, I had passed the girls' bedroom and noticed that they were both snuggled up in bed.
Benedict was sitting on a chair in between their beds.
He held a book, and was reading to them.
"And so, Alice was happy and at home with her family. The end." I hear Benedict slam the book shut and peer my head around the door. "Night girls..."
"Daddy..." Ella called.
"Yeah baby?"
"Are you and Mommy ever going to make up?" She asks and a tear begins to form in my eye.
"I don't know, but I know we... might."
"But Daddy..." Turning his head towards Christina, he sits back down on the chair. "Mommy always cried when you're not here. She never tells us why..." I hold back my tears, quickly making my way downstairs.
Around twenty minutes later, I hear footsteps walking towards me, getting louder and louder.
And then they stopped.
"You're still up?" I nodded and looked down at my baby soon to be born.
"Yep, baby keeps kicking... I can never sleep." I scoff and yawn.
Benedict makes his way towards me and sits by my side.
"Huh. You're watching 8 simple rules? Man... It's been ages." He chuckles. I sit up straight.
"Do you wanna... feel the kicks?" I ask his mouth drops open.
"R-really..?"
"You, are the... Father." He smiles.
Slowly, he moves his hand to my baby bump and pressed his hand against it. I put my hand on top of his and I feel the baby kick.
"Oh... oh... Baby knows his father..."
"He does..." He lifted his head.
"It's a... boy?" I nod. "Oh my god." I smiled.
"I wanna talk..." I move his hand beside me. "I... Ben... I still love you." Placing his hand on my cheek, Benedict takes a deep breath.
"I love you too Scarlett. Still, I really do."
"But... I just... there's this... feeling, that I still can't trust you." He sighs.
"I have an idea. Let's date again." I lift an eyebrow.
"What?"
"I will make it up to you... I promise. Tomorrow, let's go and have dinner. I'll cook and let Paul and Lucy take the kids. Come on." He holds my hands.
"Okay, alright. I'll do it."
