Well, this is the last proper chapter! I was actually really sad writing this, but it's had a good run! :) there will be one more chapter after this, an epilogue. All of your comments and beautiful messages really make me smile so please continue to do so? :)
Chapter 36
‘Just breathe’ I kept telling myself as I paced Cooper’s bedroom. He was in the bathroom and had only left me there for a few minutes, but my nerves were getting the better of me and wouldn’t let me stand still.
I stopped in front of his mirror and tightened my ponytail which was hanging freely with the tie dye tips. The blouse that Sadie had lent me was hanging to my figure, almost as if it was scared and was using me as its support. My skirt fell to just above my knee and when I walked it felt as if it was higher, making me feel more vulnerable when I didn’t have it to cover me.
“Ally, calm down, you’ll be fine,” Cooper strolled back through the door with wet hair. He was also wearing a white shirt and black trousers with his tie around his neck, not yet done up. If I wasn’t so nervous then I probably would’ve been gawping at him and thinking about how hot he looked.
“I know, I just can’t shake the nerves,” I replied, running my hands up and down my arms, trying to flatten the goose bumps. Cooper walked over to me and wrapped his arms around my back, pulling me so tight to his chest that not even air could’ve gotten between us.
“I love you and I am here, you’ll be fine.”
As cheesy as it was, whenever he told me that he loved me, my heart skipped a beat and my entire body warmed. I was wanted and finally had someone that loved me.
“I love you too,” I whispered into his shirt, trying to pull away to avoid creasing it but he pulled me back tighter. His hands moved up and down my back slowly, making me release a deep sigh.
I stayed in Cooper’s embrace for a few more minutes before we were interrupted by Sadie, who had been running around flustered all morning. We had to be in court by two O’clock and it was currently one so she was stressed out.
My lawyer was downstairs but I was trying to avoid him for as long as possible due to him constantly asking me questions, trying to prep me for later. I didn’t really want prepping for later; I wanted to relax and then leave for court, preparing myself on the way.
“Should I go for navy or black?” Sadie asked, brushing her shaking hand through her blonde hair.
“I think navy,” Cooper replied as I pulled away from him, running my hand down his chest to straighten the fabric. In all honesty, it was just my excuse to touch him which he must’ve realised because he smirked.
“I’ll go with the black,” she winked and I chuckled as she jogged back down the passage and into her room. I reached up and started to tie up his tie for him. He stood still and watched me as I pulled it down and flattened it with the palm of my hand.
“Don’t laugh, you’ll only encourage her!” Cooper groaned and sat down on the edge of his bed. I smiled and dropped into the office chair, spinning around a few times.
“Would you listen to your fashion choices?” I asked, stopping the chair. He smirked and gestured down his body.
“I do every day, don’t I?” he winked but I didn’t answer, I only rolled my eyes. I didn’t mind admitting that he had good fashion sense, whereas Clara always told me that she had to pretty much dress Dale herself.
