I wake up and open my window. The waves are crystal clear blue, the sky is a bright light blue and the sand is white. My ideal day. I make my black and white chevron comforter on my bed and place my tiffany blue pillows on it neatly. As, I looked in the mirror, I smile. Today's going to be awesome. I think. I walked over to my white dresser and picked out a pair of lightwashed distressed shorts with studs in the pockets, a multicolored floral bandeau and a white infinity muscle tank. I dressed myself and straightened my brown hair. On a good day, it reaches my belly button. I walked down the hallway and walked straight into the kitchen.
"Hi Mom," I said looking through the cupboards to find my favorite cereal, honey bunches of oats.
"Hey Sweetie, ready for your field trip?" Mom asked. Oh yeah, I had a field trip today. We were going snorkeling with all of the grade elevens.
"Oh yeah, thanks for reminding me," I said pouring some milk into the cereal. I grabbed a spoon and went to sit at the table. I looked out and glanced at the ocean. Crystal clear and calm. Perfect. Once I finished my cereal, I picked out a strapless black bikini top with white polkadots and a tiffany blue pair of bottoms. I packed a large straw beach tote and grabbed my tanning lotion, my coconut scented sunscreen, a bottle of water, my hat and my gopro. I wanted to capture the cool underwater fish and coral. I went down the hall to my front porch and grabbed a pair of white converse then put them on. I brushed my teeth, grabbed my backpack and tote and rushed out the door, just in time to catch the bus. I went to sit with Ryan, one of my best guy friends. Ryan had brown shaggy hair, had tan skin and pretty much wore Hollister every day.
"Adelynn! Come sit here!" Ryan hollered. I laughed and put my bags in the empty seat in front of us.
"Excited for snorkeling?" I asked Ryan.
"Fuck yes, who wouldn't be?" Ryan said nudging me.
"I don't know, maybe Briella Jamison," I laughed and Ryan joined in. Briella was so scared of everything. She was even scared of mud for god sakes. Don't even get me started on how she is mean to everyone except her little "group".
"She probably won't even go today," Ryan said. I nodded. "Hey, can I see your phone," Ryan asked giving me puppy eyes.
"Fine," I said sighing.
"Get in the selfie Adelynn," Ryan begged. Great. I smiled and made a funny face.
"This is going on instagram. Just saying," Ryan said smirking. I looked out the window and noticed we were almost at school.
"Here. Pass it back," I pleaded.
"Say the magic word," Ryan said grinning.
"Ryan," I frowned. He laughed and handed me the phone. I laughed and grabbed my bags and walked into the school heading towards the gymnasium where all the grade elevens had to meet up. Our principal, Mr. Smith cleared his throat to capture our attention.
"I will divide you up into four groups. You will be travelling on four seperate buses. Mrs. James' class on bus number one, Mr. Lynch' class on bus number two, Mrs. Blaire's class on bus number three and Mrs. Moore's class on bus number four.
I was on bus number two, with Mr. Lynch. Ryan was on my bus as well. Briella wasn't, thank god. I brush the hair out of my face and grab my bags as everyone starts to exit the gymnasium. I walk towards the main entrance where all the buses pick you up. I hopped on bus number two and took a seat in the middle with Ryan.
"You excited?" Ryan asked.
"Of course," I said smiling. The snorkeling shack was probably a fifteen minute drive from here.
"Are you taking your camera with you?" Ryan asked once again.
"Yeah. I want to remember snorkeling," I said. I suddenly felt like listening to some music. I plugged in my white beat earbuds and listened to a weird newer song called "Rude" by the band "Magic". It was kind of catchy. Ryan had his red beats and was probably listening to innapropriate rap music. Typical. I listened to some other songs and soon enough we were exiting the bus. I grabbed my bags and headed towards Mr. Lynch. He guided us to the shack where we get our snorkels. The shack also had some changing roomd where we could get changed.
"Alright, listen up. Anyone who does not know how to swim must come with me. Everyone else will follow this instructor, Ella Samuel. Ella will tell you what to do," Mr. Lynch instructed. I followed the group that was going swimming and we all went to change. I awaited for a girl in my class named Jillian. Once she was out, I changed into my bikini and threw my hair into a messy ponytail and wore my faded bass pro shop hat. I applied my tanning lotion and sunscreen and gulped a bit of water. Since I was the last one out, Ella had already guided the group down to the beach. The sand was soft and powdery.
"Why'd it take you so long?" Ryan questioned. I'm a girl, does he not know that?
"No reason," I replied.
"Alright guys, everyone is going to apply their snorkels like so and I also suggest you apply sunscreen and leave all belongings here," Ella informed.
"Can I bring my gopro?" I asked.
"Of course, but incase you didn't know, we don't cover the loss of any lost items," Ella replied. She answered more questions while I studied her. She seemed to be about twenty five or so and had long blonde hair. She was wearing a coral bikini which made her tan skin look tanner. At last we were going snorkeling! I apply my mask and start walking in the water. I tighten the gopro strap to my wrist so it doesn't fall and sink to the bottom. Ryan walked next to me.
"You ready?" he asked flipping his brown hair.
"Yeah. I want to see the different colored fish. It'll be neat to get pictures of," I say casually to Ryan. Ryan smiles and Ella tells us that we can start going under water. I dip my head underneath and notice the white sand at the bottom. I probably see three clown fish, two angel fish, five crabs and pretty tiffany blue fish that I don't know the name of. I snap lots of pictures. As I turn my head to the left, I see Ryan right next to me. He turns and grabs my hand and we start swimming towards the coral beds. I suddenly feel butterflies in my stomach and then I know something that I hate to admit.. I like Ryan.
A/N: Hey Guys! Here's my new story. I have another one called Summer in Paradise City in case you didn't know. I think I'm going to love writing this one though. So how do you feel about Adelynn and Ryan? Do you think Ryan likes Adelynn back? Keep reading to find out ;)
