"I don't know," she responds smiling. I give her a hug to let her know how a good of a confronter she was. "So, back to this Adam guy. What's his personality like? Is he a jerk? No, please don't tell me he's a jerk," Sarah rants.
"Okay Sarah," I say laughing, "calm down. He's into music I think, he seemed interested in our auditorium. He is really nice, he compliments you and doesn't make you feel uncomfortable. I think I really like this guy," I go on dreamily.
"Oooh. I like," Sarah says all dramatic. I laugh at her weirdness. All of a sudden, my phone starts ringing and I answer it.
"Hello? Is this Adam?" I ask hopeful.
"Hey! Yeah it's Adam. I was wondering where you were. I don't see you at the party. Did something happen?" Adam questions concerned.
"No, I didn't end up going. I totally would've gone, but I wasn't really in the partying mood tonight. How's it going?" I respond.
"Well, you're not missing much. The reason I sort of called is that there's this guy and he is hammered. He keeps yelling: "Adelynn! I love you Adelynn! It's Ryan!". I figured he was an old boyfriend?" Adam says sounding dissapointed.
"Oh, yeah. I think I might know who you mean. That's mainly why I didn't go to the party," I say biting my fingernails.
"Well anyways, you're not missing much. Have fun!" Adam raises his voice over loud music in the background. I hang up the phone and Sarah glances at me confused.
"So that's it?"
"That's it," I respond quietly.
"You know, I think you need to stay away from those other boys you were talking about. If I were you, I would go for this Adam guy. I'm afraid that Ryan is no longer an option Adelynn," Sarah says as a matter of fact.
"Yeah," I whisper.

It was tough to think about Ryan. All he was doing was getting himself into trouble. His reputation changed, people look at him like an idiot and most importantly, he's not my nest friend anymore. I stare at my phone. It's only nine o'clock. I realized that Hayden and Brent seemed too old for me, even though they were a couple of years older than I.
"What's wrong Adelynn? You look like you gulped a big thing of water and you can't swallow or something," Sarah remarks. What can I tell her? I really like Adam, but I don't think it's going to work anymore. I give up.
"I give up," I say softly.
"What do you mean you give up?" Sarah questions.
"Look, Sarah, I miss Ryan okay? What if he starts showing interest in me when clearly I can't even look him in the fucking eyes anymore? He changed. I wasn't expecting that. Now what? I just go for Adam and pretend everythings okay? Like fuck I could pull that off. I'm a terrible liar," I say stressed out.
"Do you want to stay the night?" Sarah asks giving a hopeful smile.
"Yes," I whisper. I call my Mom and tell her that we didn't go to the party after all and that I would be staying the night. She agreed, thank god. I took another gummy worm and nibbled on that while Sarah went to use the washroom. What happened to Ryan? My bestfriend. Gone. For a long, long time.
A/N: Hey everyone! I just wanted to do a quick authors note. How is the story so far? I'm trying to leave cliff hangers and to add more exciting details. If you have any ideas or suggestions, please leave them in a comment. I've been having trouble finding ideas so this would help if you could leave a comment. Thanks! Please give this a chance. :) Xx -Pinkglitterstars
