Yelling, arguing and pain.
You remembered being shoved, then pain exploding on the back of your head. That was all you could remember. You allowed your eyes to slowly open. The brightness of the room made you squint as you tried to make out the blurry surroundings of the room. A sudden sharp pain on the back of your head reminds you of the fall you took. Your hands flew up to the sides of your head as the dull ache pounded against your skull. Suddenly the lights went out and you let out a relieved sigh.
"How are you feeling?" A voice asked as the bedside lamp was turned on. You were met with a green haired male, you remembered him on the news, they called him the Joker. Fear radiated through you as you tried to get up and move as far as you could from him.
Before you could, he had your wrist, holding you in your place. "What are you doing?" His voice sounded annoyed and you feared for the worst.
"W-What do you want from me?" You asked in a scared voice, managing up as much courage as you could.
His eyebrow raised like you had just asked the stupidest question he'd ever heard. "Baby girl, are we playing some kind of game? If we are, be so kind as to tell daddy the rules so he can join in."
You noticed the smirk on his face, for some reason, it didn't scare you, it was familiar.
"I-I...I can't remember anything."
You looked at your hands that were lying on your lap. "I don't understand. What's going on..."
You took a chance and glanced in his direction. You were surprised to see the fear on his face, like you had just shattered his entire world.
"Damnit," he growled, standing up so he could grab the cellphone that you never noticed was beside you on the table. He brought the phone up to his ear. It was so quiet in the room that you could hear the phone ringing from where he stood. Eventually, a voice on the other line answered. "Frost, I think she has amnesia..."

It'd been days since you'd woken up with barely any clue of your life. You remembered
small details, like the city you were in and bits and pieces of your family. The Joker had assigned this guy, Frost, to look after you. He told you that his boss needed time to brood and it was best to stay away from him when he was like this. You never argued, you found his company comforting in some odd way. It was raining out and you had found yourself standing at the window, watching the people on the street running for cover. You smirked to yourself, not even being bothered that you found yourself entertained by other people's misfortune. You heard movement behind you and you turned around in time to see Frost setting down a tray of food. You instantly felt your mouth begin to water as you hurried over. You plopped down on the couch, Frost sat on the arm chair as he watched you watch no time in digging into the food.
"Frost...can I ask you something?"
"Yeah, what do you want to know?" He leaned back in the chair, relishing in its cushiony softness.
"Before I lost my memory, what was I to him?" You asked him. This question had been on your mind for days but you never asked because you were fearful of learning what the true nature of your relationship with him was.
Frost looked to you, he knew who you were talking about. "Lovers, I guess that would be an accurate description of your relationship."
You felt your jaw drop, Frost laughed at your reaction, causing you to force your mouth closed. "Lovers..." you repeated back to yourself, as if testing it out for yourself.
Frost watched you as you argued mentally with yourself. He remembered how intense your relationship with his boss was. Even now, J was having trouble keeping his distance from you. He noticed that his boss would go into the bedroom and was checking on you for the last few nights. He wasn't trying anything, which was really unlike him, he just wanted to make sure you were okay.
"So he didn't kidnap me?" You suddenly asked.
Frost stared at you for a moment, as if your question was taking awhile to register. Then suddenly, he leaned forward, laughing. "Seriously?" He asked. "Well I guess that would make sense, you remember him being a criminal but you don't remember how he was with you." After awhile, he stopped laughing. "To answer your question, yes."
You felt yourself pale but he continued. "He did kidnap you at first but things changed. You two fell for each other, no lies, no tricks. Honestly, no ones made the boss feel like that. You were different from any woman I'd ever seen him with."
"Really? Can you tell me more?"
Your head throbbed as he explained everything to you.

The Joker flew up from where he was lying on the couch, his body ached. He stared at the wall, still dazed, he didn't remember falling asleep. He wished that your memories would return soon so that he could go back to sleeping on his own bed. He lied back down, moving to lie on his side. That's when he heard the small breathing. His eyes opened and he couldn't believe his eyes.
Here you were, kneeling beside the couch, staring at him with those big (e/c) eyes of yours. "What are you doing?"
"I remember," you suddenly said. "I remember everything. My memories are back..."
He inhaled sharply, guilt suddenly shadowing over his face. You reached out and touched his cheek. "I'm sorry..." he whispered.
You shook your head. "I know you regret it and that you didn't mean to it."He looked relieved and you couldn't help but smile. You leaned forward and kissed him. His lips feeling just like you remembered.
You never wanted to forget this or anything else about him ever again.
