They'd caught him, finally. He was being escorted by many armed officers into Arkham Asylum. The walk from the riot van to the asylum entrance was rather long, like a walk of shame. The crowd you had joined roared and cheered with pure joy because at last - they felt safe, but inside you felt something different. Did you understand the Joker? Did you relate to him? You didn't know but your heart didn't like the fact he was being hurt for being different.
Normally, when the Joker was being taken into the Asylum or had been caught; he would mumble to himself, laugh in the faces of others or shout his thoughts and feelings. This time he held a straight face with a focused look baring in his eyes. Not a word came from his scarlet lips. Everyone began to leave, you stood still waiting until the doors of the asylum were closed behind him. Slowly, the officers carried the Joker up the steps and suddenly stopped after a piercing yell from the Joker. "HOLD". Your eyebrow furrowed curiously at the Joker's reaction. You walked forward to the barrier to get a closer look at what was happening. All of a sudden the Joker had scrambled out of the arms of the officers, his wrists still attached by the metal cuffs- he headed straight in your direction. Your eyes widened as his sight locked with yours. He held his arms in front of him, as if he was going to grab you. Just in time you'd moved far enough away from the barrier for him not to be able to reach you.
"You." He hissed still glaring into your eyes. "Me?" you whispered in shock. "I like you." his lips curled at the ends as the officers roughly pinned him to the floor. His eyes never left yours until he was taken into the asylum. You turned to leave, your eyes full of concern. Everybody was staring at you, as if you were his partner in crime. News reporters swiftly approaching you as you pushed past them to get to your car.
It had been 3 days since the incident with the Joker. You could not stop thinking about it. Many other people would of been scared by this experience or worried; but you had butterflies. You don't know why but your soul feels something for this man. Before your thoughts proceeded any further there was a knock at the door. Calmly, you walked to the door and looked through the peephole to see nothing but darkness. They must be covering it up on the other side. You kept on the safety chain just incase it was someone you didn't want to talk to. The door creaked as you slowly revealed who was on the other side.
"Good Evening." it was him, the one who gave you butterflies. You didn't feel one ounce of fright from this man. He is a murderer, what is wrong with you?
You unlocked the safety chain before replying. "How did you find me?" you asked gently.
"It was simple, I followed the smell of your potent perfume." he laughed rather loud.
"Would you like to come in?" you ask subtly.
"You're not like the others at all! Are you darling?" the Joker replied as he stepped over your threshold.
"I guess I'm a sucker for a bad boy." you said flirtatiously.
Before you could take a breath he grabbed the sides of your pale face and made a rhythm with your lips. He released you gently.
"Where have you been all of my life, Miss Innocent?" he said with pride as a genuine smile appeared on his face. From that moment you were in love.
