Who knew that going back to the office was going to be so hard.

Now that Eva had slept with her boss, there was a blurred boundary line. She was confused on what she could and couldn't do. But the hardest part was acting like everything was normal. She felt slutty and secretive, pretending that she didn't have romantic feelings for Jumin Han.

She sorted the files on her desk, sighing heavily at the amount of work that had somehow piled into a mountain. She was only gone for two days. How could her work load possibly equal this amount?

...Did someone in the office figure out what happened between them?

The young woman cracked her fingers and glanced at the clock. 9am. She had 8 hours to finish the stack of paperwork.

About to slave away, her office door creaked open to reveal Si Yeon. A smile appeared on her face as Eva gave her a sarcastic eye roll.

"Now what do you want Si-Yeon?" She teased as her favorite coworker closed the door behind her.

"Mr. Han wishes to speak with you privately."

Eva's mouth went dry. Jumin was supposed to take an extra day off so it wouldn't be suspicious.

But her friend's giggling snapped her out of her thoughts. Si Yeon raised her eyebrows, leaning against the mahogany finished desk. "You might be in trouble. Where were you?"

Eva paused for a moment, closing the folder she had just opened. "I broke up with Ha-Jin." She decided against sugar coating the reason she was absent.

Si Yeon went silent, her smile fading. "Are you serious?"

Eva nodded. "I had to find a new place."

Si Yeon walked over to Eva's desk and set her hands on her shoulders. "I'm so sorry baby, are you alright?" She genuinely looked concern. They embraced in a tight hug. "Why didn't you call me? Where did you even stay?"

"My moms." She lied. "But I'm fine. I made a mistake and it wasn't meant to be." She paused after pulling away. "He cheated on me. I walked right into it. It happened so fast I wasn't even able to pack my things."

Eva held the tears in. Absolutely no crying in the workplace, especially on her first day back. "It hurts but ill get over it." She whispered.

Si Yeon pouted. "You're so strong Eva. I don't know what I would have done if my boyfriend cheated on me." Her eyes glistened comedically. "Probably kill him."

"Shut up Si!" Eva laughed loudly, pushing her away in a jokingly manner. Humor always lightened the mood. For that, she was appreciative.

Her friend straightened her blouse. "Anyways, you have to go talk with the boss."

"Shit!" Eva shot up from the chair and rushed past her friend. "Ill see you later Si? Dinner date tonight?"

Si Yeon winked, sticking her hand out in front of her to admire her nails. "You know it. A lot of chatting will be happening."

Eva ran as fast as she could in heels, which basically meant a fast walk. She greeted other acquaintances as she passed by, happy to see them again. She never missed work, so for everyone else, her absence was dearly missed.
