DAY 03, WEEK 01

"Tell me."

The clock struck midnight and I could hear the clock's chimes echo through his room.

"I'll tell you." I muttered and he softened his grip, "Put on some clothes first, I'll be at the balcony."

He nodded them I immediately ran out of his room. I put my hands to my chest and felt my heart beat like I had just ran a kilometre. I took deep breaths and just managed to calm down when he came out to the balcony. I took in a very deep breath and managed to gather the courage to look at him.

"Now, start talking."

He looked really mad. I dragged a chair from his room and put it out on the balcony.

"Calm down first. Don't get mad. I don't like to see you mad."

I helped massage his shoulders and made sure that he had calmed down before I told him anything.

"There's nothing between the two of us. I promise. He was skipping school and I just wanted to see if I could persuade him to get back to school again. Turns out, he's of the same age as you."

"Really?"

"I swear. I will never lie to you."

"Can you promise me something?"

"What?" I asked, then he placed his hand on mine and I stopped massaging his shoulder.

"Don't get close to him, or any other boys."

"Why not?"

He kept quiet, though I was behind him and could not see his face, I could tell that he was doing it for my own good.

"Okay, I promise you." I giggled at him a little bit, "Is this a jealous Karry thing? You get angry at people who get close to people who are close to you."

"No." He said and stood up from his seat, he turned to me with my hand still in his, "It's an angry boyfriend thing."

I pulled my hand away and shook a little.

"Stop joking."

My eyes darted across my surroundings and pretended to yawn.

"I'm tired, let's go to sleep."

The foldable mattress Karry kept in his closet was already set out for me. I wrapped myself in his blanket and closed my eyes. I knew that if what I thought was happening was real, I would regret it on the last day.

Several hours later, my eyes fluttered open as I heard footsteps. I saw pair of feet walking forwards and backwards in front of me, without thinking, I reached out and grabbed an edge of the pants.

"Who are you?"

"It's me, Karry."

"Karry?" I thought back and rubbed my eyes. "You have school! I'll wait for you outside."

"It's okay, just stay. It's not the first time you're around while I take a shower, I have a habit of changing outside the bathroom so-"

"I'll just be on the balcony."

I heard the sound of water running through the pipes while I waited for Karry. I stared up at the sky then down to my small pair of hands.

"Wake up! Nothing happened last night." I softly slapped my cheeks.

"I'm done. Let's go." He held my hand and led me downstairs.

"Mom, I'm leaving for school." He stopped by the kitchen and notified his mom.
