Chapter 4

I woke up with some arguing that was happening outside.

I walked over to my window looked outside and saw Mr. Lucky and both tall skeletons from before.

GASP!!!! I REMEMBERED THEM!!!!~

As I mentally screamed and my thoughts full of proudness (is that a word???), I noticed that Mr. Lucky was speaking with the skeletons.

"Listen old man, I ain't helping you work with those mutts you have in there. That wasn't part of our deal.." The rude, annoyed skeleton spoke to Mr. Lucky.

"Ah ah Ah. Actually. It was!" Mr. Lucky replied with his voice full of joy. "When you gave me those pups yesterday, and your brother here asked for a job, I specifically said...

[Flash Back] Mr. Lucky's POV
(I'll just type in the whole thing thay happened XD)

As I was cleaning the windows of the shelter from the outside, I noticed two tall skeletons walking towards me. One with a large box in his arms.

"HELLO THERE HUMAN! IT IS I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, AND MY DEAR BROTHER SANS! WE ARE HERE TO DROP OFF SOME LITTLE PUPS HERE AT YOUR SHELTER. THAT IS, IF YOU'RE WILLING TO ACCEPT THEM.???" Papyrus started to scratch the back of his neck full of worry.

"Oh my my. Why of course! I am quite more than happy to reseave more pups. Now let have a look at the little ones." I responded happily as I saw Papyrus's face light up and bend down to my height and opened the box that was full of five young german shepherd pups.

They were all asleep, all huddled together as they shivered. Their fur was all wet and filthy.

To what I can notice, they've been abandoned just recently.

"Um.. excuse me, Papyrus? Where did you find these pups?" I asked in concerned.

"OH WELL, YOU SEE, ME AND MY BROTHER WERE ON OUR WAY BACK FROM THE RESTAURANT ,GRILBY'S, AND TO OUR HOME, WHEN I NOTICED A BOX ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I, FOR BEING THE CURIOUS SKELETON I AM, DECIDED TO TAKE A PEAK AT WHAT'S INSIDE. AND TO MY SURPRISE, THERE WERE THE FIVE PUPS ASLEEP IN THE COLD BLANKET." Papyrus placed the box down gently and started to pet one of the puppies's head with the tip of his fingers. "SINCE I HAD NO IDEA HOW TO CARE FOR SUCH SMALL CREATURES, I DECIDED TO COME HERE."

"I don't think I see any injuries to cause any infections..." I spoke as I examined the pups. "They seem strong and healthy... hmm.... They seem to be infested with fleas though, but not as bad that is needed to be taken care of by 'proffecionals'.. yes, now. Papyrus, this may be a big favor, but would you and your brother mind if you could help me give these pups a bath? I can't do it alone since it will take a while. Especially with my only worker off at her other job."

Papyrus seemed very happy at my request.

"Yeah... I am not going t-"

"WHY OF COURSE HUMAN! ME AND MY BROTHER WILL BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO HELP!" Papyrus cheered as he inturropted his brother. His brother seemed rather angry at that moment but just sighed and looked away as he placed his hands in his jacket pockets.

"Perfect! Now if you could please follow me and we'll start getting these pups cleaned up! They will be clean as... as.. hmm.. not sure how clean, but as clean as my other worker's little mind!" I chuckled as I picked up the box with the puppies carefully.

[Time skip]

"There we go! All cleaned up! And look at them quite furballs full of energy." I laughed as I saw all of the puppies jump and run around the room we left them in when we were done. One of them kept on biting the moody skeleton's boot's laices. He seemed so annoyed, but according on how he kept on eyeing his brother, I believe he didn't want Papyrus to get upset by kicking the pup.

Even if that were to happen... I'll make sure that darn skeleton won't ever feel his legs again for abusing a helpless pup....~

"EXCUSE ME? HUMAN? I WAS WONDERING... ARE YOU LOOKING FOR ANY NEW EMPLOYMENT BY ANY CHANCE?" Papyrus asked as he held one of the pups.

"Yes I am looking for some new employment. This place has been receiving many people at the door, asking for the job, but I can see it in their eyes... nothing but abusers... They will care for the animals, but as soon as they get used to the job, they will start to treat the pups improperly. Even if it's a tiny push... I don't greet those type of people here..." I started to space out and just remember all those stories and rumors about people abusing animals in a nearby town.

"OHH... WELL.. WOULD I BE ABLE TO QUALIFY FOR THE JOB?" Papyrus asked as he snapped me back to reality.

"Judging by how you cared for these new pups today, then I can see you're well suited for this job Papyrus." I smiled as his eyes started to widen.

"OH MY!! REALLY?! CAN I WORK HERE!?" He asked in amazement.

"I don't see why not!" I cheered.

"OH MY!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!"

"But!" I said.

"E-EH? BUT?" Papyrus asked rather confused.

"Do you think your brother can also work here? I know he doesn't seem like a nice fellow at the moment, but I can sense something about him."

"Like hell I'm gonna work here! I am not going to work h-"

"DEAL!"  Papyrus yelled out excitedly. But his brother wasn't at all excited.

"Great! You can begin tomorrow!" I shook his hand and smiled.

I don't like Papyrus's brother, but I can sense something positive in his future. And I can tell it begins here.

BUT HAHA! THAT SUCKER HAS TO SUFFER! For almost wanting to drown one of the puppies in the bathtub. Good thing I had my brrom right next to me. If I didn't have it, I would of never have whacked this sucker into the ceiling.

[Flashback end]

So that explains the hole in the puppy care center.

I continued to listen until they had to leave.

Aww, I wanted to listen to more.

Well at least I get to know them more!

Well! Time to get ready!
