Val's P.O.V. (Friday Night)
I lie awake thinking of what will become of the morning. Max is coming over tomorrow. And, i'm not ready. At all. I mean, what would they think of her?
My parents are really understanding people. But, you never know what will happen.
Ugh, this is such a bad idea. Why? Why did I have to ask? Wait, no. They're the ones who brought it up! Well, it was mom, who brought the idea up. I'm pretty sure...
I shake my head, and pull the pillow over my head.
Go to sleep.
Go to sleep.
Go to sleep.
I chant, inside my head. I wonder if Max is still up. I bring the pillow to my chest, as I stare at my phone, that's on my night stand. My hand slowly inches towards it, as I wonder if she'll respond, or if the insane girl is still up.
I highly doubt it though. This must be a piece of cake to her. Like seventy percent of her friends are guys. So it wouldn't matter to her. But, what if it did?
Stop talking nonsense, Val. She's probably in bed, snuggled into her pillow, and the blanket wrapped around her body. The cupcake blanket.
I wonder why she's so attached to it.
So many unanswered questions. So little time.
But, I am fine with waiting. I just hope she tells me soon. Cause, we basically are best friends. And I understand that it takes time to warm up to people. Hey, believe it or not, but Tyler was so shy when he was younger. He hated to talk to the pizza guy on the phone.
Like you aren't?
What?! Can you blame me? It's embarrassing as hell. And very uncomfortable. Every time when someone suggest's we should get a pizza, I instantly say my phones dead, or i'm out of minutes, or some kind of excuse so I don't have to talk to the pizza dude. Like, thanks. But, I'll pass.
I'd rather buy an oven heated one, then talk to the pizza guy on the phone. Like love the pizza, don't love talking to someone I don't know through the phone.
I look over at the clock on my nightstand, one thirty nine. Ugh.
Okay, Val. Think of nothing.
Think of nothing.
Nothing.
Nothing.
Nothing at all.
Okay, this is actually kinda working.
My eyes flutter shut, as I put the pillow behind my head.
Yes!
"Ugh!" I groan, as Chewy jumps on my stomach.
Damn it! I was almost asleep, too! Fuck, just my luck.
I look to my left, to see Chewy spinning in circles, then lays down in ball, and falls asleep.
Oh, the joy of having a pet.
I roll my eyes, as I turn over, and close my eyes.
-----------
One of my eyes flutter open. And I sigh, once I notice that it's sunny outside. I am so not ready for today. Just as I was about to pull the covers over my head, my mom bursts through the door, squealing like a school girl.
I briskly sit up, scaring Chewy in the process and he jumps on my lap, and starts to bark at my mom.
"Chewy! It's okay! It' just mom!" At the sound of 'mom', Chewy instantly stops barking, and goes to the edge of the bed, and lays back down, and drifts back to sleep. Huh, reminds me of Max.
