- Val's P.O.V. -

I stood there shocked at her words.

She doesn't love Adien?

Her head leans down, and she buries her head in the crook of my neck.

I pull her closer as my chin rests on her left shoulder. I could tell she didn't want to talk about it.

"I would never forget about you." I mumble, so only she can hear.

Then I hear footsteps. I look up to see one of the assholes.

I roll my eyes as they walk closer to me and my angel.

"Fuck off." I mumble, as I bring my gun up and shoot him in the leg.

"Hey, Val!" I turn to my left to see Tyler.

"What?" I ask, as I walk slowly over to him.

"The cops are here, with Max's parents." at the sound of 'parents' Max starts to wiggle out of my grasp.

I slowly set her down, and she bolts out the door. Stepping on Noah in the process.

I follow her, and I kick Noah in the face.

I jog out the door, too see police officers handcuffing Noah's helpers. I smirk as one of them glares at me.

Then my eyes find Max hugging her parents to death, as Mason looks around confused.

I walk up to Mason, and crouch down to his size. "Hey buddy."

Surprisingly, he brings me into a bear hug. "Thanks for saving my sister." he sniffs.

"Any time." I smile, wondering if that makes sense to a five year old.

"Now, tell me how you did it!" He cheers as he breaks the hug and starts clapping excitedly.

I chuckle as I start to explain. "Me and my friends drove here in super speed. Then we kicked down the door with our own feet, and they all surrendered to our super human strength," I flex my muscles just to exaggerate. "and I broke Max's chains with my bare hands, and carried your sister to safety." I smile, glancing at Max.

"Can you give me super human strength?" He asks, giving me the puppy dog look.

"I can't give you super human strength, but I can give you some tips. Tip one, drink a lot of milk."

He smiles brightly, as he runs over to his mother shrieking, "Mom! Can you buy me a gallon of milk?"

Max slowly walks back over to me. And then I notice what she's wearing. Small shorts and a torn, white, long sleeved shirt.

She must be freezing, it's not even fifty outside. I shrug of my black jacket, and I put it over her shoulders.

"Thanks." She murmurs, looking me in the eyes as she slides her arms into the sleeves of the jacket.

"Don't worry about it." I mumble, as I look at my shoes. Then her arms wrap around my neck, and mine automatically wrap around her waist.

"You are never getting this back." She lightly giggles, as my arms tighten around her waist suddenly getting cold.

"Eh, whatever. It's your's." I shrug lightly.

"Really?"

"Yeah." I nod.

"Oh man, I'm going to steal all your sweat shir- I mean, thanks." She mumbles.

I chuckle as she rests her head on my chest.
