"What about you? What got you here Quinn?" Asked Corwin.
We were sitting on the cafeteria floor, scarfing down good as fast as possible. Corwin had said he needed to show us something else so we had better eat quickly. I figured it was better than sitting around all day doing nothing so I heeded his advice.
"I wanted to see what was outside the Gates. I had to know and got caught because of it." He grimaced.
"It's okay man, you're better off with us." Veeno assured him, stuffing another sardine in her mouth.
Quinn nodded silently.
"What about you Lila?" Corwin casually bumped her shoulder. I hadn't told anyone else about what I saw last night, but I figured they'd figure it out themselves.
"My old 'soul mate'." She snorted. "He sold me out. He had always told me there was a better world but I never listened. Guess throwing me in a jail was easier than dealing with me." Her expression turned dad and I saw her finger brush the name on her left arm.
"He knew about this place?" Corwin asked, confused.
"Yeah that doesn't make sense." Added Chad, mouth full. "I never thought about what was out here."
"I don't know. Gib just told me he knew a few things and I figured-"
"Gib?" we heard three voices almost yell at us.
"What?" Lila asked.
"Gib's my younger brother. And the only reason he is over there is because they kidnapped him when he was younger." Bit explained, setting his food down quietly. "I guess he was too young to remember what freedom of mind was like." He shrugged, acting like he didn't care.
"Gib is a Disruptor?" Lukkas asked, still processing information.
Even though most of Lukkas' memory had been jogged he wasn't back to normal. He talked slower and didn't joke around as much, which I guess made sense. I still missed the old Lukkas though.
"Yeah. I guess he believed all their shit." Bit shrugged again.
Looking at Bit's shoulders I could see how tense he was - especially since Bit was normally relaxed. There were slight traces of irritation on his face. No way he was okay.
"Well guess that was a... Um." O heard Lukkas mutter next to me.
"Twist?" I suggested, watching him nod with his eyes closed.
"I hate not being myself." I heard him say through his hands.
Before I could reply, Corwin spoke up. "Alright, now time for something awesome." Corwin pulled Lila up with him and we all followed suit.
"Come on, maybe this will cheer you up."
Lukkas didn't respond, but stood anyway.
"Through here." Corwin said with a grin, pulling open two large, metal trapdoor laying on the ground outside the Drop. How I didn't notice them I have no clue.
Lukkas have me an odd look, but I shrugged and dropped down, feeling a latter with my foot.
Reaching the bottom, I looked around. It was a large area, larger than the cafeteria. The lights were almost off and it was jam packed with people who were either yelling or singing to the blaring music. Through arms I could see a ropes off section in the middle, an arena of sorts.
"Looks great doesn't it?" Veeno yelled over the noise.
"Sure does!" I responded, starting to get a headache.
