(Chapter 9) Time has passed
(Brief first person POV)
Several weeks passed on like this
The days got longer and longer as summer came around....I'm fully healed now and I've gotten the training I need to take down the bandit leader....I've been asking around for a while now and I have finally found there camp....
Well it's more like a fortress....
The bandit group is apparently the biggest and strongest in the valley by far even in the surrounding valleys
I'm going into town to see if I am find a little help cause even if I have had the greatest training around I could be taken down for sheer numbers and they defiantly have the numbers....the way I see it ill need a small army to help me, I don't expect to get many people though
Almost everyone is terrified of them
I've been earning money from John and Paul by helping around the farm
And now I have enough to hire some sell-swords from town....
Finn starts his walk up to town by saying good bye to everyone and that He'll stop bye before he does anything. Finn had only been walking for a few minutes when he heard hurried footsteps quickly coming up behind him. His first thought was that a bandit had come to finish him so he put his hand on his hilt of his blade and quickly turned around while drawing the sword in one sift movement and pointed it at his possible enemy, he's relieved to see that it was only May.
"Gosh May you sacred me!" Exclaimed Finn.
"Well excuse me! I thought you might want some company on your walk but I guess not. "May said in a huff.
She turns to head back.
"Wait! "I'd love some company actually....I'm nervous "said Finn.
With a smile May walked up to Finn and put her arm around his
"Well let's go then" May said cheerfully.
It wasn't long until they reached the village it was a small town that was growing smaller, people were scared of the bandits so more and more people have left their homes behind.
"The streets are so dirty now." May said with a sigh. "The people who kept everything clean left long ago with many other people. This is your first time in town isn't it Finn?"
Finn replies with a nod.
"That's what I thought, can I show you some of my favorite shops?" asked May.
"Sure, we have some time" replied Finn.
May leads Finn down one of the streets, her arm still around his, their hands getting closer and closer together. She stopped in front of a shop with a sign with most of the color faded away, it said
"Shinning flowers"
"This used to be a flower shop, Finn. They used to have the most beautiful flowers around, they even had their flowers in the castle garden, I've never been able to see the castle garden but I heard it's beautiful I really want to see it someday." Said May sadly.
May slowly slides her hand into Finns and they interlock their fingers, they give each other a glance and they blush and turn away.
"I have another shop to show you, it's even still open, would you like to see?" Asked May.
"Of course May, wherever you want." Finn said with a smile.
May smiled back.
May lead Finn down another Street, this one was cleaner than the others, a few people were even walking down it, there was only four people and it was the most Finn had seen since he walked into the town.
Finn and May arrived at another store.
"This is my favorite shop! They have all kinds of super cool stuff for sale from all over the world, I've never seen items like this anywhere else, but they haven't gotten much of anything new in a while, soon this shop will close like all the others....And then the town will be completely abandoned, The bandits have destroyed it, Daddy says he's going to take me away from here soon....Will you come with us, Finn? I'll miss you if you don't" Said May.
"I don't know yet May, I have things I need to take care of before I think of going anywhere, But.... I'll ask your father if it would be okay." Replied Finn.
May squeezes Finn's hand tighter, he squeezes back, she puts her head against his chest again like the night they told each other of their loses. She didn't cry but it was obvious she wanted to....
"Shall we go in and see what they have left?" Asked Finn.
May Replied with a sniff. "Yes, defiantly." She looked up at Finn with watery eyes and a smile.
They walked inside and began looking through several shelves, suddenly May let out a yelp
"What is it may?" Finn asked quickly.
"I found two matching bracelets! We should get them, they we'd always be together!"
May said cheerfully.
"Alright that's a great idea May." Replied Finn.
Finn paid for their new bracelets and they walked outside, still holding hands. When they got outside they put their bracelets on each other. The bracelets were made of colored wood and string, in one part of both the bracelets there was a wooden heart. May smiled at Finn as he brushed the inside of her palm with his fingers, she closed her hand around his fingers for a while, they stood there outside of the store looking into each others eyes, neither of them knew what was going to happen next, May was about to say something when Finn cut her off.
"Well we need to get going, can you show me where the bar is?" Asked Finn.
"What? Why?" Questioned May.
"I'm sure there will some mercenaries there, I figured they would help me if I pay them enough."
May understood what Finn wanted and guided him to the bar without questions or hesitation, still holding hands.
Finn had not yet told May of his plan of attack he didn't want her to worry
Finn walked in and told may to wait outside that she would be safer outside....she of course didn't listen and came in right after him Finn didn't waste any time and simply yelled out
"I'm looking for two mercenaries for hire! Who's interested!?" Yelled Finn.
It took a moment but eventually two men came forward
They asked "what will you have of us?"
"I want you to help me attack the bandit camp...." Replied Finn.
One of the men stepped forward" Are you mad boy!?No one comes back from there! They either die or become slaves! They even took my brother away from me! You don't have a chance!"
"That's right I don't have a chance....Not alone at least, but with your help and the help of others we can take this valley back from them....You can either die fighting....Or die hiding, it's your choice...." Stated Finn.
These words seemed to inspire the men. "If your serious about this than I pledge my sword to you....I will follow you into battle kid, but we'll need more men than this where are we going to get them?"
Then Finn proclaimed "Well Then i guess we better to head up to the castle and talk to the king...."
