I suffer through a long day at hell (the technical term is school). I'm tired during my first 3 morning classes: Chemistry, Algebra II, Spanish II. I wake up a little bit at noon during lunch. Then I'm just bored during my last 3 afternoon classes: Advanced English II, Government, and Music.

I can't count how many "happy birthday"s from people at school. Every single teacher of mine wished me a happy birthday. The janitor wished me a happy birthday. The guidance counselor wished me a happy birthday. The secretaries wished me a happy birthday. A couple of my other friends wished me a happy birthday. Their boyfriends and girlfriends wished me a happy birthday. All those "happy birthdays"s makes me super happy; I appreciate them a lot.

At 3:00, school is finally over...thank God!

"Let's go to McDonald's!" I declare excitedly.

"Yeah!" Eva shouts even more excitedly.

McDonald's isn't very far away at all, just a block away, which takes about 10 minutes to walk there.

Once we reach McDonald's,  we head inside and order chicken nuggets, French fries, and medium Coke.

After we finished eating, we leave McDonald's and walk to the mall, which is literally down the road a couple buildings away.

"What store do you want to go to?" Eva asks.

"Forever21, duh." I reply.

"Excellent choice, girl."

We shop at Forever21 and Eva graciously buys me 3 new shirts, 3 new pants, and 3 new shoes. That's so sweet and thoughtful of her.

Next we shop at American Eagle and Eva buys me 3 new jeans and 1 new shirt.

And last we shop at Old Navy and Eva buys me 2 sweatshirts, 1 shirt, and 2 pairs of pajamas.

By 5:30, we're pooped out from shopping.

"Thanks so much, Eva." I say gratefully as we wait outside for Mitchell to pick us up.

"No problem, Cassie." She says sweetly.

There's an awkward silence between the 2 of us.

"Um, Cass?" Eva approaches me nervously.

"Yeah?"

"I know that you had sex with Mitchell at the party a couple of nights ago."

I freeze. "You do?"

"Yeah, I overheard your conversation with Mitchell yesterday."

"I....I'm so sorry." I apologize. "It just happened, that's all."

Eva shakes her head. "I'm really disappointed in both of you guys."

"Eva..."

"No. Don't talk to me."

A tear trickles down my cheek.

Mitchell arrives and we hop in the car. This time, I'm in the back seat and Eva is in the front seat.

"Mitch, she knows about what we did," I tell him.

Mitchell freezes. "Ah, crap. I'm so sorry, sis."

"No. Sorry doesn't cut it. Just shut up and stop talking to me." Eva snaps.

I continue crying quietly.

I betrayed my best friend.
